The Corvette ZR1X’s top speed is 233 mph, with a 0-60 mph time of under two seconds, according to GM. The vehicle’s LT7 twin-turbo V-8 engine that’s shared with both ZR1 models is rated at 1,064 horsepower and 828 foot-pounds of torque, the company said. Adding to the performance of the ZR1X is an electric axle that makes the vehicle all-wheel drive and gives it an additional 186 horsepower and 145 foot-pounds of torque, GM said.

Hypercars were on display last weekend at the 24 Hours of Le Mans....

Riiiight, where ya gonna use it, most of the people that by these are old men who. barely drive the speed limit, or morons who think they are Speed Racer and floor it, lose control and totally destroy it. Aside from some rural areas where can you use the speed they are capable of?

It doesn’t look remotely like a corvette. Stubby nose.

I can’t think of anywhere someone needs that kind of speed. I would admire such a car, but no way I would even test drive it.

First truly innovative change from GM for a long time.
Should have had a fuel-injected 500-cid big block instead.

Exactly what a divorced 55 year old should have55 plus year olds drive slower Corvettes, not this one. I'm sure there are exceptions, myself being one, but it's not the norm.

Estimated under 9 seconds on the quarter mile.

Agree. Looks regressive with its looks, very akin to a Lamborghini Countach.

I gotta admit that I clicked on the link just to see if it was a hybrid. Yep.
I rented a prius in Seattle a few years ago and was dumbfounded by it’s off the line acceleration. This should be a natural strength of a hybrid. I would think the fastest sports cars in the next few years will all be hybrids.
And they only need that extra “oomph” for when quick acceleration is needed. That doesn’t take much of a battery.
