Democrats are a mess. They have no message other than "Trump bad." They've made one stupid move after another, siding with human traffickers, drug smugglers, and CEO killers. Nothing is working, so they have resorted to theatrics led by one Alex Padilla. If I had to guess, I'd say this was planned in advance and that pretty much all Democrats were given a heads-up about it.
Alex Padilla, the emotionally volatile lightweight senior Senator from California, pulled off one of the most stupid and obvious stunts we've seen in some time. He interrupted an official proceeding and appeared ready to attack Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem as she was speaking.
New video showing Senator Padilla was being disruptive and was removed.
This is all a theater. He should not have assaulted the officers.

He was removed from the briefing forcibly and was briefly handcuffed. Of course, this saw a torrent of outrage from Democrats.

Within 24 hours, Padilla was fundraising off the incident.
He did NOT introduce himself before attacking.
He was not wearing his Senate security pin visibly.
He resisted the officers.
He assaulted officers.
Note that he was dressed not as a Senator, but more like an illegal.
He behaved like an illegal alien criminal.
This looks like someone who means harm to Noem.
Bill Shipley opines that Padilla should be charged the same as any Jan 6 protesters. Yes, he should be charged. He should also be censured and removed from office.
But he got what he wanted.
