Di Leo: A Party of Contradictions

The Democratic Party has long cried out for more peaceful, cordial politics, for an end to the divisiveness of modern times, despite the fact that their politicians are the ones who always call for violence against their opposition.

Even after these past ten years of “the Trump era” – which have laid bare this outrageous and constant hypocrisy – the Democrats continue to claim to be upset at the politics of division.

This is the contradiction that comes to mind when we think of Democrats, but it’s not alone. In fact, over the past generation or two, America’s Democratic Party has become the party of contradictions, in almost countless ways.

What’s the Democrat position on energy? Ban proven, dependable sources like natural gas, petroleum, nuclear, and coal, while driving up the need for an ever-more robust electric grid by things like electric cars, electric trucks, and the endless energy demand of artificial intelligence (AI).

You can’t do both. You can either get rid of dependable energy and agree to live without these huge energy users, or you can desire these high energy users and support the power sources they require.

But Democrats don’t mind the contradiction. They demand the impossible, and literally promise a dismal, failing future as a result of their dysfunctional policy positions.

What’s the Democrat policy on food? Democrats claim to oppose starvation; they claim that it’s their opposition, the Republicans, whose policies cause people to starve. But it’s Democrats who insist on covering millions of acres of farmland with useless and insanely inefficient solar panel farms, removing that prime land from agricultural production.

It’s Democrats who insist on covering millions of acres of farmland with equally inefficient windmills. It’s Democrats whose endless greed for tax revenue causes them to practically salivate at the prospect of confiscatory inheritance taxes, the single greatest contributor to the loss of countless family farms across the country.

But Democrats don’t mind this contradiction either. They don’t mind the fact that their policies reduce the output of food; they vote for food stamps and think they’ve accomplished something, as if the food just magically appears out of nowhere in the aisles of your grocery store, already packaged and refrigerated, as soon as Democrats vote for funding.

Democrats regularly declare that their foremost cause is the protection of children. Whatever the issue, from school funding to healthcare programs, from welfare checks to gun control, their loudest chant is “It’s For The Children!” So we should at least be able to assume that they have noble motives, right?

Alas, the Democrats also have non-negotiable platform positions against the interest of children, such as the open borders that have invited hundreds of thousands of child abusers and child traffickers into the country, the soft-on-crime rules that don’t even allow our big cities to prosecute most crimes, freeing hundreds of thousands of known criminals to flood our cities, making our neighborhoods dangerous, making our public housing war zones, endangering our children whether they’re at home, at school, or anywhere in between. And do we need to mention abortion? Supporting the killing of the youngest and most fragile of our nation’s babies is practically a sacrament for America’s Democrats.

The fact that their every policy endangers our nation’s children has never stopped the Democrats from claiming to be pro-children.

Democrats once claimed to be the party of the working man, but they’ve spend much of the past century writing regulations and tax codes that have driven employers out of business or at least out of the country, so they could no longer employ anybody. You simply can’t get away with claiming to be pro-worker while driving the people who would pay their salaries out of the country.

But that fact doesn’t stop the American Left from their hypocrisy. Every election season, we are flooded with ads in which Democrat candidates and their allies in the trade unions join fists and claim to support America’s workers, even while burning down the employment sector that creates the jobs our workers so desperately need.

Democrats once claimed to be the party of women’s rights, of feminism, of equal treatment under the law. And while some of their specific methods went too far, the general theme of ensuring that women and girls enjoy full protection under the law is absolutely right. But how have Democrats behaved in recent years? The Democrats’ full embrace of radical transvestitism and transsexualism has caused the dismantling of girls’ and women’s sports, driving the attendant dismantling of girls’ athletic scholarship programs, not to mention the actual endangerment of putting girls in a boxing ring or basketball court, or locker room or bathroom, with a mentally ill man in a dress.

In any other age, people who forced girls into such situations would be prosecuted and punished as accessories to the molester or abuser himself; today, Democrat politicians win public office and retain prominent positions as administrators of schools, teams, hospitals and associations – even while the Democrats continue to keep the moniker of “defenders of women.”

On issue after issue, the Democrats contradict themselves.

They claim to fear the danger of nuclear war, but fight tooth and nail against the anti-ballistic missile defense systems that would lessen our risk. They claim to oppose war, but insist on strengthening the rogue states such as Iran and China who are most likely to start one.

Democrats claim to support the sanctity of the Social Security program to protect our senior citizens, but they have added millions of non-seniors, even non-citizens, to the Social Security rolls, diluting its value and reducing the assistance it can offer to retired workers. Democrats claimed to value America’s health care, but then pushed the Obamacare boondoggle that caused the outright closure of thousands of rural clinics, hospitals, and medical practices, and ended the affordability of health insurance for the majority of working people.

The parties are known for many things, and campaign proudly on every claim under the sun, depending on their audiences. Republicans are the party of the family, the free market, safe streets and a strong defense, Democrats are the party of union bosses and crime gangs, of government bloat and urban blight.

But perhaps most dependably, more and more every cycle, the modern Democratic Party solidifies its claim on the title, The Party of Corruption, even as its brainwashed acolytes fail to be offended by being taken advantage of in so many ways.
