I don’t know where you created that spin from but In America before I was born, and when I was a child, and when I marched in parades as a soldier, and the American parades since then, it was about the patriotism.
Relax, we will survive the 250th birthday of the Army and the 4th of July.
You can’t be serious. I’ve attended military parades since I was a wee lad in GITMO. They were to honor the US military.
(Military parades exist for one reason. They are a display of strength to threaten all comers. Especially the local population)
Oh good grief! Do you actually think Trump is doing this as a psyop to threaten the local American population?
With missiles? Fly overs? Tanks? This isn’t some Veterans Day thing. He’s setting up a parade just like Putin likes. Just like Stalin liked.
It’s not spin. It’s reality. Show of strength of military parades are there to threaten the populace. Again: what countries are most of them? DICTATORSHIPS. That’s not spin. That’s fact. Don’t be a frog in the pot.
“I donât like the optics of this idea. Too much like what China and North Korea do.......”
Perhaps it’s to get the attention of China and North Korea. You know, FAFO.
250 years of the US Army. That’s a thing to celebrate.
Uhh, you mean the guy who keeps getting into twitter beefs former employees? The guy who has a lengthy history of getting petulant when people are “disloyal”? The guy who talks about outlawing criticizing him?
If I Could Only Fly...
Where to go? DC? NYC? Alaska??
the Army's 250th birthday
President Trump's 79th birthday
Flag Day
Do you think that post will hold up in the coming years, or that it will look silly and hysterical in 10 years time?
It’s the truth. I would be against this style parade for any president. It is how dictatorships worked. It’s how they’ve worked my entire life. And I don’t really care what people who aren’t smart enough to recognize that truth think now or 10 years from now. Cuba, USSR, Egypt, Angola, Zaire, Chile. I know what kind of countries have these parades. We shouldn’t imitate them. Ever. Even with the best intentions.

How about the Liberty and Strength parade Ike had in 1957 showcasing giant atomic guided missiles down Pennsylvania Ave?
57 second video.

Do we still have that many left?
Not a good look then either. The only good part is that in ‘57 there hadn’t been that many dictatorship parades yet to show us what a bad look that is. 75 years later and HUNDREDS of these parades down we all should know.
Likely he never wore the uniform either...
Sorry, Bub - the army will be officially 250 years young, and I will be celebrating.

The Anti-American/Anti-Trump/Anti-Patriotism/ in you is strong!
BUZZ Incorrect. My parents were Marines. And one was in Viet Nam. And neither thought “displays of strength” were really the kind of thing America needed to be doing.
Hope there’s a place for the Clydesdale horses. Haven’t seen them in a parade for a long time.
Isn’t Musk just confirming he has Asperger Spectrum disorder. ( Didn’t Musk admit that some time ago and was on medication for it?) Lashing out when you don’t get your way is a typical characteristic.
(Sounds like somebody whose parents were Lefties during the good old “antiwar” (pro-enemy) demonstrations of the ‘60s-70s.)
I think what we have here is an old hippie anti-military draft card burner!

Your mom was a Marine, too?
