Then my disabled son can collect it.

SS is going broke because of WFA, not legitimate citizens who paid into it their entire lifetime.

Yes, your son can draw if he became disabled while a minor.

What is the WFA?

There is no indication that many of those accounts were getting benefits.

I am all for cleaning up the database. It should be done regularly—better yet there should be constraints on the order entry to “force” legitimate information be input.

But the masses who think this is going to save billions are just wrong.

Musk even said this on the Fox interview. What the benefit might be is that these “bad” numbers could be used to verify identity. THAT could save on all sorts of things.

Database clean up and accurate order entry are important and will eventually result in better “numbers”. But this, and the treasury system, just show how shoddy the management of our systems have been. I have a vision in my mind of a large civil servant with potato chip oil stains on the two-sizes-too-small shirt/blouse, overseeing the drones who do the order entry.

That’s not going to stop until they entire supervisor levels are replaced.

There are many systems where if no DOB is given, to get people registered, a DOB of 1/1/1901 is put into the system. Which...as of today...would make them: 124 years old (plus change)

This isn’t an accident. As far as I am concerned, this is criminal. There is nothing benign about it.

As other users have pointed out, they may not get Social Security benefits, but there are an entire host of “benefits” that are open to anyone who possesses a SSN.

Without reading any further, I have zero doubt that the cry from the Media, Democrats, and other Leftists is that this is not a big deal, and just because those SSNs are there, it doesn’t mean there is anything nefarious going on.

Waste, fraud, and abuse.

My youngest was born disabled.

We never let that label define him, but if that is what it takes, I will.

“According to Breitbart, DOGE has been providing regular updates on the growing number of seemingly fraudulent Social Security recipients.”

Fradulent recipients?

12 million? That is about 2 billion dollars per year.

There are 6.38 million people in the USA over the age of 85, and 6.11 million people over the age of 85 are getting Social Security benefits.

https://www.ssa.gov/oact/progdata/byage.html

DOGE is cleaning up a Social Security number database (marking the “Deceased”) field)....not the current SS beneficiary database that only has 6.1 million people on it. (See post #20).

According to Breitbart, DOGE has been providing regular updates on the growing number of seemingly fraudulent Social Security recipients.

I'm guessing this is a drop in the bucket compared to the fraud they'll find on Social Security Disability...
