This nomination fell by the wayside for numerous reasons, but it wasn’t a good pick. Dr. Janette Nesheiwat was a Dr. Anthony Fauci acolyte, promoting most of the worst COVID nonsense on Fox News. She also gave Facebook props for censoring posts that raised questions about the COVID vaccine.
She also peddled panic porn about travel to Florida during this period. There were serious problems with Dr. Nesheiwat, whose nomination is being pulled by Trump. There were supposedly concerns about her credentials. I mean, it appears she wasn’t completely honest about where she attended medical school, which isn’t good, but I think we know why she was shown the door (via Axios):

Dr. Casey Means is being tapped as the new surgeon general nominee. Dr. Nesheiwat will be serving in some other capacity:

It was a significant loss. Weldon would have been a great CDC Director.

Yeah Dr Casey is a better pick. I got nothing against the previous pick she seems like a nice lady but she is very pro vaccine and she is related to Mike Waltz so the confirmation hearings would have been too crazy..this pick is much better

Dr. Casey Means would be the best possible choice. RFK Jr. says he learned a lot of what his policies are based on from her. If you want to live a long and healthy life, her book is a must-read.
If the Surgeon General requires Senate confirmation, Casey Means will not be serving.

I've heard some interviews with her and she knows her stuff, trained as a surgeon and is NO fan of big pharma, so is not beholden to them.
I figured Trump would pick someone I had never heard before, but I was very surprised to both know who it was and actually be thrilled with the appointment.
I heard she's a functional medicine doctor as well.

You must be talking about the Fox News “doc” that was just canned, for this Surgeon General position, today....the day before her scheduled conf hearing.
She had faked her credentials....said she graduated w/her med degree from a USA University...when, in fact, her med degree is from a Caribbean college.
I respect Dr Bowden's opinions, especially considering what Methodist and even the Texas State Medical Board has put her though...she's also testified several times in Senate hearings w/Sen Ron Johnson...
