Former Army Special Forces officer and Republican Florida representative Mike Waltz was removed from his post as national security advisor to President Trump Thursday. The spin from the leftist media was immediately that he was fired over his role in the “Signalgate” non-scandal—but Vice President JD Vance says that’s just not so.
Waltz was almost immediately announced as the new ambassador to the United Nations, and in an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier, Vance said that it should be considered a “promotion,” not retribution for the Signal brouhaha.
He’s done his job, the VP said:
President Trump removed Mike Waltz as national security adviser because the Floridian would be a “better UN ambassador,” Vice President JD Vance said Thursday — arguing that the former congressman’s nomination to rep the US in Turtle Bay could be considered a “promotion.”
“We brought Mike on to do some serious reforms of the National Security Council. He has done that,” Vance told Fox News “Special Report” host Bret Baier. “I like Mike. I think he’s a great guy. He’s got the trust of both me and the president, but we also thought that he’d make a better UN ambassador as we get beyond this stage of the reforms that we’ve made to the National Security Council.”
Watch:
What is @VP Vance's response to President Trump removing National Security Advisor Mike Waltz from his position & nominating him as the next US Ambassador to the UN?
He joins @BretBaier from South Carolina to share his response.

The mainstream media was fervently hoping for their first “scalp” of the Trump administration—they’ve failed so far in their desperate attempts to take out Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth—but Vance said they’ll just have to keep trying:
“I think the media wants to frame this as a firing,” Vance said.
“Donald Trump has fired a lot of people. He doesn’t give them Senate-confirmed appointments afterwards. What he thinks is that Mike Waltz is going to better serve the administration, most importantly, the American people in that role.”

As we reported, New York GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik was originally slated for the role of U.N. ambassador, but her nomination was pulled when Team Trump realized they could not afford to lose another strong voice in the House of Representatives. She took the news graciously and said she just wanted to keep winning:
"I have been proud to be a team player. The president knows that. He and I had multiple conversations today, and we are committed to delivering results on behalf of the American people. And as always, I'm committed to delivering results on behalf of my constituents," Stefanik said on "Hannity" Thursday.
Mark Twain is often given credit for this line (which isn’t actually what he wrote, but it’s still a keeper): “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
It would appear that the reports of Mike Waltz’s ouster from the Trump administration are exaggerated too.
Why do I think of the phrase “kicking him upstairs”? That said, it should be interesting how this plays out over the next six months.
Unfortunately that won’t keep the Left from continuing to beat the drum on a false narrative once they’ve created it. It will become part of the narrative. As they say, “A lie is halfway around the world before the truth has got its boots on.”
It is actually a promotion.
Let’s see.......believe the Drive-By Media creepozoids, or the President and Vice President.
Someone told Trump and Witkoff that the Russians were ‘flexible’ regarding an unconditional cease fire in Ukraine. So Witkoff flew to Russia to work on the plan...just to be told that nothing’s changed and that Russia would only agree to a cease fire under certain conditions.
Witkoff wasted his time going and wasted Putin’s time meeting with him. Who gave Trump/Witkoff the bad information? Don’t know, but Waltz is certainly high on the list of possibilities, given his Neocon credentials. I could certainly see Trump being angry over the screw up, whoever caused it.
In terms of public profile, UN might be better, but in terms of importance to the country and President? NSA >>>> UN.
“Witkoff wasted his time going and wasted Putin’s time meeting with him. Who gave Trump/Witkoff the bad information? Don’t know, but Waltz is certainly high on the list of possibilities”
Doesn’t really make sense - Waltz would be less likely to push a negotiation with Putin. The hawkish End The War strategy would be to ramp up pressure on Russia: economic, and arms to Ukraine. Force a negotiation. Sending Witkoff of is the Tucker strategy of Russia is our friend.
“Doesn’t really make sense - Waltz would be less likely to push a negotiation with Putin.”
Unconditional cease fire is a DREAM come true for Ukraine, as they get to re-arm and re-build their military, instead of being on their back foot, losing ground daily. Obviously, that is exactly why the Russians oppose the idea.
Congratulations to Donald Trump for finding a solution that saves face for both sides.
I looked under my kilt and saw smoke.
It wasn’t mine.

To maintain the lie they have to give Trump credit for firing him though lol.
The spin from the leftist media was immediately.
As always make something up fast to hell with facts we have news to pimp.
Yeah, right, JD. wink wink
“Promotion”
Lol.
Here is the proposed White House budget for the next fiscal year:
Page 4...
“The Budget does not provide funding for wasteful United Nations (UN) and other peacekeeping
missions due to recent failures and high level of assessments”
“The Budget pauses most assessed and all voluntary contributions to UN and other international
organizations, including for the UN Regular Budget, UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural
Organization, and the World Health Organization.
This is consistent with Executive Order 14199,
“Withdrawing the United States From and Ending Funding to Certain United Nations Organizations
and Reviewing United States Support to All International Organizations.”
