It wasn't as graphic as the fake bloody, severed head of Trump that Kathy Griffin infamously held up. But in her own way, CNN's Audie Cornish lumped Trump into the same category as history's most famous victim of the guillotine.
Cornish kicked off today's CNN This Morning by slyly slipping in an analogy between President Trump and Marie Antoinette--the French queen who was beheaded by the guillotine.
Commenting on Trump's statement that, given the new tariffs, "maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls," here's how Cornish rephrased Trump:
"Let them buy fewer dolls!"
That was an echo of the phrase attributed to Marie Antoinette in reaction to being informed that the peasants had no bread:
"Let them eat cake!"

maybe read up on Marie Antoinette first.
Isn’t there a meme on the internet declaring Trump to be “the emperor of mankind.” Is CNN beginning to declare Trump is royalty? Are they progressing into monarchy now?
She should compare President Trump to Queen Elizabeth 1. Queen Elizabeth went through a lot of hardship, accusations and tragedy, including being imprisoned for a year by her sister Queen Mary, before returning to become Queen.
She was a true leader, a legend. Someday President Donald Trump will become a legend of our times. CNN’s Audie Cornish will be a nothing whiner, like all the others who inflicted insults and lies on President Trump.
Hey Abbie, I got a name for you, Penochete.
Maybe there is something to this. Marie A was subjected to much hateful and untrue propaganda just as the President is subjected today. Both received much undue hate as a result of Leftist agitation.
