"We're Coming For You.... That's A Promise": 800 Illegal Aliens Rounded Up in 4-Day Florida ICE Raids

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers and agents teamed up with Florida state police to round up nearly 800 illegal aliens during a four-day operation this week. The round-up came as part of a multi-agency immigration enforcement crackdown, ICE officials stated.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said this is a warning to criminal illegal aliens across the country. “We’re coming for you,” Noem said in a post on social media.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers teamed up with the federal task force as part of “Operation Tidal Wave,” ICE officials reported. The nearly 800 arrests took place during the first four days of the targeted enforcement operation. ICE officials called it a “first-of-its-kind” partnership between state and federal partners.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis posted a comment on social media on Saturday, saying, “Florida is leading the nation in active cooperation with the Trump administration for immigration enforcement and deportation operations.”

I think it’s good news, but the apprehension of about 100 times that number would be even better. We have to take as many as we can get, tho.

A drop in the bucket, M. dznutz? I suggest you go back and check your history. I spent part of my youth in the Oklahoma school system, and was exposed to history in the State. Specifically, the stories of the Sooners and the Boomers. In both rushes, there was a large number of immigrants doing the running for land. Most of them worked hard, living off the land, and making a living working the land.

Here in the twenty-first, the hurdles to enter the USA are much higher, and frankly I think most natural born citizens could never pass the tests without severe remedial education.

I'm all for deporting all the freeloaders and criminals, post haste. I'm less eager to deport people with a drive to be productive members of the community, particularly those who already have useful skills. I applaud Trump's statement that his Administration is ejecting the worst invaders first.

While the worst of the rejects are being shown the border, it gives Congress time to revamp the requirements for those not trash to earn citizenship. Starting with the Dreamers, who we have schooled in the culture of these United States. Yes, the "undocumented" are criminals, but that doesn't mean we cannot absorb the creme of the crop, those who elect to stay and work to earn it.

Remember, the problem was that many of the people (yes, people) who crossed the southern border "informally" were rejects in their home countries. Some were persecuted. Others were criminals. Still more were unwanted for other reasons. The USA has laws (not enforced) that required foreign born people present in the United States to not be a burden to this host country.

It's the burden that has to be eliminated. That's the crux of the problem.

Remember, the problem was that many of the people (yes, people)

Are you insinuating M. asinclair that I don’t think of them as people?

I think most natural born citizens could never pass the tests without severe remedial education.

Those natural born citizens are just that, citizens, they don’t have to pass a test. If there are some who wouldn’t pass the test, could that be a reflection of the sad state of our educational system? They don’t teach the basics, reading, writing, and arithmetic, or this county’s history, they are more interested in pushing their leftist social agenda in the classrooms.

I'm all for deporting all the freeloaders and criminals, post haste. I'm less eager to deport people with a drive to be productive members of the community

The trouble is how many of those productive citizens ignored our immigration laws, making them criminals. Is that fair to the people who are going about becoming citizens the right way? How many illegals are gainfully employed but are still freeloading through taking advantage of taxpayers by using free healthcare and other government assistance programs, or church programs, we have no idea. As I drive through Chicago neighborhoods I see many residences flying the Mexican flag, do you think they want to become proud Americans?

I went north for Easter and when I returned to Florida, the snowbirds are gone, and the roads are much less “crowded”. They never are anything like driving on the Baltimore beltway

I like hot weather so I am happy for summer. All the Florida seasons are great for me.
