Pope Francis passed away two days ago, on Easter Monday. He had been the leader of the Catholic Church for just over 12 years. He presented himself as a well-intentioned and deeply religious man, none of which I ever doubted. But good intentions are the paving stones of the road to hell. I often tried to find some positive things about Francis so that I could admire him. But unfortunately I think that his overall impact on the world and on the church was overwhelmingly negative.
Thinking that he was working to uplift the poor and downtrodden of the world, Francis accepted all the most destructive prescriptions of the international Left. I’m sorry, but I don’t find that acceptable in a man claiming to be a major religious leader and asserting moral authority to tell others how to lead a good life. After a century and more of the destructive horrors of socialism, people in major leadership roles in society have a responsibility to learn about that and understand it and not continue to spread it. Even with the Soviet Union long gone, Cuba and North Korea and Venezuela and China are still out there to observe. We have a responsibility to know about them — why they fail, why they perpetuate poverty, why their people suffer. Supposedly good intentions have long since ceased to be a sufficient excuse for ignorance of something so important.
In general, Francis embraced the collectivist view of economic relations. He began with advocating generosity and compassion toward the poor, but then took that to the next step and asserted the Marxist principle that private property is essentially theft. This is from his 2020 Encyclical “Fratelli Tutti” (We Are All Brothers):

I invite folks to not only accuse but also convince readers that the authors and the reports they cite are lame.
How do we know the Pope’s intentions?

After looking at some of his pictures, I started calling him Pope angry. The only way he would smile is by putting a communist to pose next to him. It was truly embarrassing for Catholics that they chose such a troubled person as their leader.
Pope Francis was a POS period. Prove me wrong as they say.
He did nothing right.
This is a lady who spent endless hours caring for people under really crappy conditions and doing so very selflessly. I'm not defending her because I'm Catholic (I'm not and never will be). I'm just disgusted by the sleazy character assassins that feel threatened by her so they have to try to tear her down rather than admit their own hypocrisy. They are really sick in the head and the slanted crap they write says more about their own moral failings than anything about their intended victim.
One of the reviews says that her service to the poor was more about converting them to Christianity than physical help (paraphrasing).
Even in death, he is virtue signaling by being buried in a “plain wooden coffin” which is being emphasized by the synchronized media.
If you think you can stand justified before God on Judgment day, understand that no one is without sin, and thus we all deserve condemnation. Every religion out there has a bunch of rules to follow (including atheists who don't think of themselves as having a religion) but none have the answer for the inevitable question: what happens when we fail to follow the rules? Even Islam teaches they don't know if Mohammed is in paradise due to this problem. Only through Christ's sacrifice to cover our sins is there a solution to our fallen state.
