Once The Deadline On May 7th Arrives, They Will Ask You To Show A National ID Card If You Want To Travel By Plane
Citizen Watch Report ^ | Michael

More than 100 countries around the world have a national ID card. Now the United States has one too. Starting on May 7th, you will be asked to show a REAL ID card if you want to fly on an airplane. Once authorities have established that precedent, it is just a matter of time before a REAL ID card is required for all sorts of other things. Being forced to “show your papers” in order to exercise basic freedoms goes against everything that this nation is supposed to represent. Unfortunately, that is precisely what is about to happen once we reach the deadline on May 7th…

Due to a law passed by Congress in 2005 that has been repeatedly extended for two decades, anyone traveling on domestic flights must have the new REAL ID to get through routine security protocols and board a plane. REAL ID also allows access to some federal buildings and nuclear facilities. The deadline of May 7, 2025, now appears set and is unlikely to be extended again, with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) extending hours to help Americans obtain them.

We have now received official confirmation that there will be no more extensions of the deadline.

Voting? Ok.

Who are the idiots that create this nonsense?

Every driver license in the USA qualifies as a REAL ID. Your expired driver license from 10 years ago, probably doesn’t(A few did though).

Every passport qualifies as a REAL ID.

Every Global Entry Card qualifies as a REAL ID.

There are a ton more IDs that qualify. Your coupon discount card from Piggly Wiggly does not qualify, so if that’s all you’ve got, you’re in dutch.

Democrats will definitely try to block on a voting requirement

It would ruin their whole fraudulent system

Enforcement of this at airports could get real interesting.

“Real ID” isn’t proof of citizenship (for voting). Asylum seekers, VISA and green card holders can get a “Real ID”.

The problem is that NOT all drivers licenses qualify as Real ID. There are states that give drivers licenses to illegals ... still. Some, like WA State give you a choice of a Real ID drivers license or a traditional license. No proof of ID other than a utility bill for traditional license. This will basically do away with that practice.

A driver’s license isn’t proof of citizenship either but it’s better than nothing when it comes to voting which is where many places are now and the Dems want everywhere.

Not my recently renewed CA DL (currently valid until the end of 2029)...but I am not planning on flying commercial, and I have a passport as back-up.

(Every driver license in the USA qualifies as a REAL ID. )

Mine did not

I had a state ID that was REAL ID.

I had to surrender it to get REAL ID on my DL.

Now you can no longer have both even if one isn’t REAL ID.

I used my state ID when I did a 4473 or other non-automobile things, like a cash advance (electronic check (.

I’ve always questioned how this passes constitutional muster.

I can understand some level of searching your luggage to make sure you’re not bringing a bomb onto a plane, but once cleared in that particular fashion, why does the government need to know you are who you say you are to travel domestically?

If I don’t need to identify myself to walk from one state to the next, how does flying (or driving for that matter) change that?

and yet its “racist” to demand you prove who you claim you are in order to vote.

Seriously why do they feel the need to lead with a yellow journalism headline.

Most State DL’s are already REAL ID compliant and no need to paint this as something more egregious.

A star on the drivers license indicates it’s Real ID. The star on mine is at the upper right corner. I don’t know if that’s the location for all of them.

I don’t think so

I had to show my American passport to get the Real ID star on my TN DL

You have to prove you are an American citizen to get one

That’s where it is on mine.

I found it amusing that, considering the “mark of the beast”, that they chose a pentagram to symbolize this.
