As noted by Politico, within the ruling Boasberg goes on to say:
…”if the administration doesn’t rectify the issue, the judge said he may require administration officials to testify under oath so that he can identify the specific individuals responsible for violating his order. He would then request that those individuals be prosecuted.
The judge signaled he could appoint an outside lawyer to prosecute the contempt case if the Justice Department declines to do so.” (link)
I think we all know the very select group of “beach friend” people whom Boasberg would lean toward in appointing someone to prosecute Pam Bondi and DOJ officials representing President Trump.
High on the list of possible judicial branch appointments, who would be subject to review by the authority of Boasberg himself, would be his prior friendship with a previous appointee, Mary McCord. Or possibly Andrew Weissmann, Barry Berke, Norm Eisen, David Laufman or any other credentialed member of the Lawfare alliance.

Did courts ever have that authority? Prosecution is a pure executive branch power. I think they had to be appointed by the AG even back then.
I cannot imagine the court ever had the power to appoint a prosecutor and pursue a “crime” as they saw it.

I think you’re right. The judges were involved due to the Special Prosecutor law by it was always the AG with the final word. So I don’t know what this clown is smoking.

Trump’s felony “convictions” by a freakshow Manhattan jury with charges brought by ignorant clowns masquerading as prosecutors didn’t hurt him in the election; I imagine that illicit use of the court’s by some out of control judge will have less effect.
The irony of this district court judge making threats of going after Bondi and the DOJ, while the US AG Pam Bondi who is the head of the DOJ just opines on FoxNews. Seems more likely they’ll trump up charges against her before she puts any of these liberal scumbags in jail.
And the Republican Congress/scotus is trying to stay out of it.

Boasberg is simultaneously flabbergasting and and incredible in his conceit. Has he no sense of proportion or respect for decorum? At long last, has he no decency?
If she had these scum would be mortgaging their homes for legal fees in attempt to stay out of jail today. Trusting the plan will soon have the Lawfare shysters in court working on the gubmint dime to put Trump and Blondi in jail!

For months now we have heard this prick has no right to what he is doing and Bondi should do this or Johnson should that but nothing is done about it nothing.

But he barely escaped the lawfare punishments due to becoming the President, and while sitting as one is safe. Unless the midterms bring a corrupt Dem House. God forbid.
