First we see a Sentry Mode camera recording of JIM PELIS keying a Tesla in New Hampshire. That was the FA stage of his education. Shortly after that JIM PELIS entered the FO stage when questioned by a police officer. After initially LYING about keying the Tesla, JIM PELIS admitted the truth after being informed that his evil deed was recorded on video thus completing the FAFO cycle.
FINALLY, some of these a-holes are being doxed!
ummmm,
i had a buddy who keyed a car back in my last summer of HS 30+ years ago. Should he have been put in the can for years for keying a car??
why is the assumption that our horrific prison system is always the answer? is he going to be “rehabilitated” there?
How about accountability? He should be required to reimburse the tesla owners insurance company for the full amount of damage. He should be required to pay an inconvenience fee to the tesla owner for the troubles of repairing the car. perhaps some other punishments that might teach him a lesson not to mess with other peoples property. but prison?
my mom’s POS brother who was an excellent doctor got caught up in a medicaid insurance bribery scam along with about 20 other respected doctors a few years ago and spent about 2 years in the can.
despite my hatred for my uncle, there was simply no point in locking these doctors up. They were all first time offenders—with good careers. some were more guilty then others but sticking them all in prison? not really a solution. (and the government never fixed the loopholes that allowed the scamming to take place to begin with!)
Perhaps my uncle could have been sentenced to 1000 hours of emergency room detail in a hospital — he was known as a great doctor. but prison? not always the answer
“It’ll be complete when he walks into the Graybar Hotel and spends his next 5 - 20 years there.”
yep ... in some states [e.g., Florida], keying a car is a felony because of the expense to repaint a chunk of the car ...
He should be slammed into a prison in El Salvador!
Because TDS is a mental disorder and accountability is not in their vocabulary due to the disorder.
“no one is going to get that kind of time for keying a car. A fine and 90 days probation maybe.”
in Florida, keying a car is a felony due to the expense of repainting a chunk of the car ...
“i had a buddy who keyed a car back in my last summer of HS 30+ years ago. Should he have been put in the can for years for keying a car??”
30 days and the cost of a full respray plus double damages. That should come to about $10,000.
Seriously if one of these crazed aholes were thrown in the slammer it would at least slow down.
“Fun experiment...get some Trump or MAGA bumper stickers and stick them on your leftist friends and neighbors car.”
now, THAT is a fun experiment! ... except that i don’t have any leftist friends ... possibly some leftist neighbors though, but i wouldn’t know who they are ...
> get some Trump or MAGA bumper stickers <
A good friend of mine likes to fish in Canada. And every time he crossed the border, the Canadian border authorities would pull him over for a little chat.
My friend couldn’t figure out why. Then he got it. It was the NRA sticker on the back bumper of his truck. As an experiment, he removed the sticker. The next time he was waved right through.
Those NRA stickers must give off some really powerful vibes.
” Should he have been put in the can for years for keying a car??”
Florida says, YES! ... it’s a felony to key a car in Florida ...
A “great” doctor has integrity. Your uncle was a criminal doctor.
He should have to sell everything he owns and hand over his life savings, pensions and social security to pay off the damage he and his co-conspirators have caused. Jail, okay, but personal financial ruin and claw back is necessary here.
I hope he has to pay for the extra depreciation that will come when the owner takes the car into trade and the detect panels have been resprayed.
17 years ago, our son had an old Porsche gifted to him by his uncle when our son was in high school. Some bad kids at high school stomped the car ruining the paint. It cost $10,000 to repair it and all the kids got felony raps after one of them squealed to get a lighter sentence. We actually had a couple of the parents call us and ask “Why are you pressing charges? It isn’t fair!” As if ruining our son’s car was “fair.”
As you point out, the keying itself looks minor, but the paint is ruined and frequently the rust preventative coating beneath the paint is ruined, too, necessitating new parts. It looks small, but it can run into the thousands of dollars to get the car repaired.
And ultimately, the ones they are hurting then most are the owners.
You’re right. Jail is too harsh. Instead he should receive 1 year of indentured servanthood learning a useful trade.
Those who destroy Tesla’s get five years and have to pay the owner for the car.
” That should come to about $10,000.”
I’m guessing you haven’t had to have a car painted lately.
If only we were judges! This would be an awesome punishment!
