Those are satellites reflecting the sun, and they go dark when they enter the shadow of the earth.

It’s a weather balloon, either that or swamp gas reflected off the ionosphere creating an illusion, or something like that.

Also, at least one History type shows had someone move a light or something reflecting around inside a plane and the glass of the window made it look like it was outside.

But on the Jack Webb produced series Project UFO (1978-79) they dramatized one experienced pilot moving the plane slightly to make sure his two crew witnesses saw the UFO was not explained as being one of the various angles of reflection. Episode was from real life encounter by a pilot in Project Blue Book files.

Funny addendum:
Placed at the tail end of the ending credits of a majority of the episodes is this disclaimer, superimposed over the official seal of Department of the Air Force:

“The United States Air Force, after twenty-two years of investigations, concluded that none of the unidentified flying objects reported and evaluated posed a threat to our national security.”

I don’t know anything about Howie Mandel, but until I see video of something dropping 50,000 feet in a few seconds then performing a right angle turn, and disappearing in a flash in some direction, it could be anything manmade and I am going to treat it as such.

The video from the US Navy fighters off California some years ago (and the testimony from the Aegis cruiser was compelling to me because of who those people were and the circumstances, but this wasn’t something that tweaked me.

That was F-18 Super Hornet pilot David Fravor and his copilot who encountered the Tic-Tac dropping from 80k feet to the ocean and then traveled 60 miles in less than a minute.
