ATF’s History on Waco is Full of Misinformation and Coverup
AmmoLand ^ | March 7, 2025 | Dean Weingarten

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives posted a “history” of the botched service of a search warrant on the residence and buildings of the Branch Davidian religious sect on unincorporated property near Waco, Texas, on February 28, 1993.

This correspondent closely followed news of the botched raid and siege as current events. The research on this assignment refreshed emotions from three decades ago when the nation reeled under a situation that exposed the Clinton administration’s use of naked force and its disdain for the Constitution and the rule of law. The events of the raid, it’s planning, botched execution, and the horrific handling of the aftermath by the FBI have come to be known as “Waco.”

Many books have been written about the events that resulted in over 84 deaths, most caused by a combination of governmental agency arrogance, incompetence, and lies, with heaping helpings of coverup in the aftermath.

The botched FBI response led directly to an FBI armored assault on the Branch Davidian buildings after a 51-day siege.  The assault resulted in the destruction by fire of the buildings and the death of 76 Branch Davidians, including 25 children.  There is ample evidence the FBI deliberately used tear gas grenades, which were notorious for their incendiary effects and which had been banned from use because of the danger. The public was shown footage of armored vehicles battering the buildings as they blocked escape routes while FBI loudspeakers bizarrely broadcast, “THIS IS NOT AN ASSAULT.”

“History” was placed in quotes because the timeline of events is hotly disputed. The ATF, FBI, and the Clinton administration’s Department of Justice were far from transparent about the events that occurred at the ATF warrant service/raid. To further complicate the situation, the FBI took over

Ruby Ridge and Waco were actions which showed many Americans the Government agencies were out of control.

Out of control?

I would describe it as criminal gangs. The atf is chief among them, a pack of murderers.

Years ago after a visit to the local Post Office I saw some booklets in the trash about religion. I am a sucker for such things, took and read them. I realized they were from a Missouri group of the Branch Davidians, an offshoot of the Seventh day Adventists.

Our government intentionally burned families alive.

They murdered US citizens.

Where is Janet “sasquatch” Reno these days btw?

Also, Arlen Spector can GFH.

David Kirsch was a big middle finger to the Clinton administration. He had Janet Reno deal with it the same way (s)he dealt with Elian Gonzalez. Use guns. Trump doesn’t have to. The left will forgive their violent leaders and the right will realize they’ll have to wait until the next election if then. The left will have the upper hand.

When a closed knit group of religious people teach that the Government is evil and will come to kill you, the US Government will take notice and come and kill you.

That wasn’t a “botched” event. They wanted to murder the Davidians and that’s exactly what happened.

Delta Force was there, it has been reported. Why, oh why, would the best of the best killing team be there, if the goal wasn’t to kill everyone?

I think they (rightly) figured that if you could get away with Waco, you could get away with 2020.

There was a movie I watched back in the day, (VHS), that was a sort of documentary on David Koresh, which painted him as some fringe lunatic, but once you got through that, it was an analysis of the FLIR technology and video imagery that demonstrated it was nothing short of a storm and murder operation against the men, women and children in the building. Executing them and running over kids with tracked vehicles as they fled the flames caused by the CS gas igniting.

It was nauseating to watch.

In the 1990's we made fun of David Koresh for saying he was the return of Jesus. Clinton's people went into Texas guns a blazin'

Then in 2008 in cultish fashion, Obama described electing him as: "this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal". And Eric Holder gave guns to cartels in Mexico.

I recall that video. It showed the FBI repeatedly lied about their operation.

A lot of murders happened on April 19, 1993.

They could have picked up David K at the Whataburger on Bellmead Drive off I-35 on just about any morning. It was his breakfast hangout.
But that would not have allowed the cops playing soldiers in the cattle truck and shooting their new AR-15 toys. It was a cluster frig that should have resulted in many firings and jail time for the law dogs run-amuck.
Likely many were gifted promotions and career advancements.

Remember Koresh would often go out for a run alone and could have been arrested almost any time.
Waco was murder.

My sister dated David Koresh when he was in Texas in the 80’s. I think his name was Vernon Howell back then. She went out with him a couple of times and thought he was way too weird for her.

You may be referring to the documentary “Waco- Terms of Engagement”. It was nominated for an academy award and really documented the malfeasance of the government from day 1. Its is excellent and I believe it is on YouTube.

The should be Rules of Engagement, not Terms of Engagement.

There’s a show on TV where they interview ATF and FBI agents about events like these.

They guys that were at Ruby Ridge were outright lying, claiming that the killing of Vicky Weaver was a missed shot intended for either Raney Weaver or Kevin Harris. The interviewer wasn’t even trying to be credible.
