$10B is not “massive” any more. It might have been in 2002.

Low-voltage motor control centers - Siemens US

Siemens manufactures giant motor control panels for industrial use.

My past career in industrial demolitions, the outfit I worked for
removed and resold several panels from defunct sawmills.

Jobs for all the laid-off Fed Rats. Except they don’t have any skills beside clogging up the works with regulations and pushing paper.

If these direct foreign investment announcements keep up, this will be the shortest “recession” on record and a momentary downward blip in the equities markets.

Umm. ONE question.

Why aren’t American companies jumping into manufacturing? What are the obstacles?

OK, that’s TWO questions, but they are related.

An old friend of mine worked for Siemens. He said people always asked if it was a sperm bank when he told them he worked there.

'$10B is not “massive” any more. It might have been in 2002.'

Exactly what I was about to post.

Now, that $168 billion from Taiwan the other day ... that still qualifies.

Based on the current economic climate in Germany, Siemens is making a very wise decision for their company.

Siemens is a solid, highest quality company. As a business they do their homework and fiercely protect their reputation for integrity. They lost their New Youk offices on 9-11 (South Tower), and immediately found space in New Jersey and worked tirelessly to help their neighbors, and to fulfill their obligations to the Port Authority and other clients.

Welp! I have worked 36 years and presently in automated manufacturing (CNC-Aerospace-HSV, Alabama) and can positively affirm that this is good news! All of the high end mfg cells here are new multi-axis machines and Siemens controlled. Really good news indeed.
