This motorcyclist lands in the flatbed of a truck and only suffers minor injuries.
It happened Tuesday in Irwindale, CA.
Wow. Better than a movie!
Did they charge him with leaving the scene of an accident?
The bike wasn’t so lucky....
There’s a reason sport bikers are called “organ donors”......this guy just dodged the bullet.....for the time being anyway.
Heh, perfect!
Better video and article:
I used to work with Evil Knievel’s cousin John.
The entire family thought he was nuts.
It is incredibly dangerous to ride a bicycle or motorcycle on the roads today. People have their heads buried in their smart phones.
There are jackasses on all types of bikes from rice-burners to Harleys. (just as yes, there are jackasses in cars on the road too)
I was driving up to a beach in my area back in September, and on the way up on the main two lane road going into it, with a speed limit of 40 mph, I had a group of six motorcycles overtake me doing at least 60, they came up behind me, then went around me simultaneously, three of them on my driver side (and threading through the oncoming cars!) and the other three went by me in the narrow breakdown lane.
Then, when in front of me, one of them popped a wheelie, then another one. What stuck out to me was one of the riders wearing a full black body suit with a skeleton on it, and a helmet that looked like a skull.
I was glad I had seen them coming up behind me, because if I had swerved slightly to the breakdown lane on the right to avoid them or give them room not to head-on the oncoming lane (and possibly embroil ME in their fatal accident) I would have definitely hit the ones that decided to pass me on the right.
I came up behind them at the next stop light, all six of them grouped together, and I could only shake my head. Effing stupid and crazy, all looked like guys in their mid-twenties, and the skeleton outfit guy with long blond hair streaming out the back.
At the beach, I parallel parked on the main road, and as I walked towards the main part of the beach, I passed the group of those bikers parked, sitting on their bikes.
Mister Skeleton was sitting there, and when I passed, it was a beautiful young blonde girl, not a guy. I know I am a dinosaur on this, but...I still expect young women to have more common sense than young guys. But now, in today’s society, they have license to be just as much of a jackass as any young guy, and that is saying something, having once been a young guy.
I thought of how sad it would have been to see that beautiful, attractive young girl smeared along a road, just because she had to show the guys she could be as much of a jackass as they could be.
One of the guys looked at me when I passed, perhaps he recalled seeing my military ball cap I wore in the car when they passed, and he nodded and said “Hello”. I nodded back, but decided not to stop and lecture them. Wouldn’t have done any good, I suspect.
I wonder if the white vehicle “didn’t see him” and trapped him in the lane behind the truck.
Dumbass riding a bike with performance, and at speeds, far beyond his skill level.
The biker seemed to be going too fast, but other that that I can’t figure how he managed to do that.
Looks like a stunt to me. The biker was accelerating into the back of a flatbed. If it wasn’t on purpose what was he thinking?
These guys are idiots. I had one pass me on a high rate of speed on a single lane ramp between the driver’s side and the retention wall with no shoulder, probably 3-5 feet of space. I was over 60, he had to be three digits.
In CA they are allowed to split lanes. They get angry when people don’t pull over, but I can’t with a wide load lowboy without running off the road or impinging on someone else’s lane. They’ll split on both sides, so if you move over for one you block the other.
Also, splitting lanes in excess of the speed limits when traffic is stopped or at a crawl is just stupid. I’ve also seen motorcyclists split lanes going in opposite directions. That is, a two lane highway, 65 mph limit and a motorcycle driving between the space between two vehicles going opposite directions. Technically, it’s legal, but most definitely suicidal. I’ll never forget the motorcyclist splitting lanes rear ending another motorcyclist splitting lanes.
Before attacking me, I have a motorcycle endorsement and used to be a DOT motorcycle safety instructor.
I think the white car is in the HOV lane, so is not expecting anyone to be trying to merge.
one of my former coworkers had a motorcycle rider end up in his back seat, unfortunately the other person on the bike ended up in the other lane and their head was squashed like a melon.
I think the coworker was partially to blame cause he liked to tailgate and slam on his brakes at the last moment instead of driving like a normal person.
but the biker should have realized this and had a better following distance.
I worry about my kids riding their bikes around
Add the road conditions. These government agencies are broke and it shows in the disrepair of the roads. It's bad enough with four wheels, but two is far worse.
Ya think? LOL. It had nothing to do with somebody on a cell phone (from above). This guy was not paying attention and speeding and is really, really lucky he's ok.
Another squid missile has landed.
I mthink I was 55 when I gave up motorcycling & selling my bike. I really enjoyed biking, mainly off-road, but had just a few too many close calls. I still think about how much I really enjoyed a bike.
