Elon Musk dropped a shocking revelation about how the government handed the Navy $12 billion to build new submarines, only to find that not a single submarine was built with the money.
Musk, who revealed that he first heard the revelation from Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine), said Navy officials shrugged when asked where the money for the submarines went.
“There’s a case where I think Senator Collins was telling me about how she gave the Navy $12 billion for more submarines, got no extra submarines, and then held a hearing to say where the $12 billion went,” Musk told Joe Rogan.

Senator Susan Collins of Maine tells about how she gave the Navy $12 billion tax dollars for more submarines. But we got no submarines, and even held a hearing on where the $12 billion went. And they said, “we don’t know.”
Maybe someone should check with the General Dynamics
shipyard division, which is in Senator Collins’ district.
General Dynamics Bath Iron Works (BIW) is a shipyard in Bath, Maine that designs and builds ships for the U.S. Navy. A subsidiary of General Dynamics, a global defense company, it is located on the Kennebec River in Bath, Maine
So Senator Collins asked who?? That place is a secure facility. You're not going to get an answer except from someone authorized.
My grandson sent me pics of their last launch about 5-6 months ago.
Takes about 5 years from beginning to end to get one completed.
Collins said she met him once in December and she was impressed.
P.S. Collins is on the appropriations committee....and getting money to Electric Boat benefits an associated company in her state.
Elon! They are the new “invisible” submarines. The latest in stealth technology. We cut see them, neither can China or the huskies!
I was too excited. — You can’t see them nor can Chi-na or the ruskies!
Who knew?
Maybe they use it for black ops, we can hope.
HOORAY Elon Musk! HOORAY JOE Rogan! Thanks.
The new advanced stealth submarines are so good, you can’t even see them...
Sorry, it’s a black program. We can’t talk about that with a mere senator.
Maybe they use it for black ops, we can hope.
Nah
Here’s the question every honest person on the planet should be asking: Why haven’t the government thieves responsible for ripping off billions of dollars from America’s taxpayers been personally investigated and indicted where evidence implicates them in criminal activity???????????????????????????????????
I thought there were many government watchdogs whose primary responsibility is to investigate employees suspected of criminal activity. If that’s true where the f*ck are they?
The advanced subs can time travel—that is why we can’t find them.
Lol.
My grandson is an Engineer at EB in Ct and sent me pics of their last launch. The pics are all on the web. I asked him a couple questions...and he said something about my possible demise.
Gee my son (many years earlier) said the same thing about my possible demise, when he went to Alabama on Lear to test some missiles....It was an easy question.
Seems to me the issue here is not the money or the subs. It’s why the General said he didn’t know.
Takes about 5 years from beginning to end to get one completed.
We know that subs are definitely being built on an ongoing basis, but could it be that this particular appropriation disappeared into a black hole without any indication that it resulted in subs? Could it be the issue is that money is being appropriated more than once to supposedly build something, with one of those appropriations never being used for its stated purpose?
“Maybe they use it for black ops, we can hope.”
That was my first thought. They can’t tell someone like Susan Collins what the money was actually directed towards.
I think this will likely be a big part of it going forward. If the appropriations committee didn't specify in exact terms what project it was for, then it's a free-for-all disbursement and she has no one to blame but herself and her colleagues. Taxpayers still get to embrace the suck.
