The fiery meeting on Friday between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy captured the tense moment when Ukrainian Ambassador Oksana Markarova realized the magnitude of the damage done.
The viral moment showed Markarova appearing distraught, with her head in her hand, as Trump questioned Zelenskyy about not wanting a ceasefire with Russia in front of the entire world.
Markarova lowered her head to her right hand and closed her eyes as Zelenskyy continued to dig a hole for himself in front of President Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

FR thread-—Z’s defiance in the Oval Office — jabbing at Vance,
snubbing the minerals deal — was a colossal miscalculation.
Trump thrives on loyalty, a currency Zelensky spent recklessly.
Had Z played ball, Ukraine might’ve secured a lifeline:
<><>mineral revenues to rebuild,
<><>U.S. firms as partners, not overlords.
<><>but he bet on European guilt and American patience — both finite resources.
I told him, not so much coke before the meeting.
Why?
Don’t forget the war pig Senators just visited Zelensky at the MSC around Valentines Day to show the love and assure him they were his friends and supporters.
Ambassadors are supposed to have the ability to stay poker faced.
I had the opportunity to sit in on a video-chat James Clyburn had with a high school social studies teacher 2 years ago. One of the students asked him about why the US was getting involved in the Ukrainian mess. Clyburn told him that he and many of his demonrat colleagues had money invested in Ukrainian companies and they wanted to protect their interest. I do not believe he realized what he admitted at that point. Of course when he tried to talk about getting NATO involved he called it “The North Atlantic Trade Organization- or something like that.” Idiot didn’t even know what NATO stood for, either that or he was telling us what the DemonRats have turned it into.
Is that when Zelensky allegedly called Vance the b word in Ukranian...?
Ambassador: “Not my president!”
Did she do that at moment Zelensky allegedly called Vance the b word?
Zelensky’s a pompous fool who thinks he’s in control.
He’s an idiot if he refuses the deal because, without American companies/workers in the Ukraine, we have zero incentive to defend them in any way.
Trump wants a return on the billions Biden wasted in the Ukraine - almost 60% of which are unaccounted for....and one way to recoup that money is to get the mineral rights - win-win situation, but the cross-dressing, stand-up comic, ain’t smart enough to grasp his situation...
NATO can make noise but they won’t risk war with Russia w/o the US willing to overstep the Treaty limitations so, noise is all Europe will add to the chaos.
And, if they were to actually try to admit the Ukraine to NATO, Zelensky couldn’t pay his fir week’s dues, much less add a fair share.
He’s up a creek, wearing his wife’s knickers, without President Trump - yet the fool blusters...
It was the head shake at the end which sealed the deal.
Zelinssskyyy has multiple years of war-torn agony under his belt. Many foreign leaders, even Trump, probably can’t quite relate to what he’s gone through. Vance may have felt like he was losing face in front of his boss and everyone else in the world, right there and then, so he decided to throw the “propaganda” card, essentially saying—I don’t need a prior tour through some Potemkin Village in Ukraine to figure out that you’re a fraud on his last legs. At this point, Zelinssskyyy really must have lost his...temper....to have muttered that phrase like that, under his breath, sitting where he was sitting.
Wow. What an exchange.
I’ll bet she wishes she could take back her reaction because now how she acted is emblematic of just how terrible zelenski acted and ho2 badly he blew it.
Isn’t Ukraine now incapable, though, of conducting itself as sovereigns are expected to do, and as Ukraine needs to do, to even start to move forward with negotiations on a deal of a scale that Trump is proposing? Ukraine wants to put the current war behind itself, but there is also the matter of its recent pre-war history of throrough-going governmental corruption. Zelinssskyyy, if he’s being honest with himself, may be thinking that his country’s insane levels of corruption will probably void Trump’s proposed deal, ab initio. The war has done such enormous damage. There may be an overwhelming feeling of embarrassment, or of utter ineptness, that all Ukrainians feel that prevents them from even visualizing a fruitful future.
LOL Dead on.
