The article does push gun control but is eye opening none the less. Large numbers of Barrett .50 Cal rifles are being legally purchased in the US and shipped to Mexico to be used by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. Additionally, recent allegation against the Jalisco New Generation Cartel indicate that 4 US Special Forces Soldiers, 1 Green Beret/Delta Force Operator, 2 US Navy Seals and a Ranger from 75th Ranger Regiment. The point that is interesting to me is this one particular cartel has professional military people running their operations who have all received special forces training in the US.

Indicate what? What did they do? I know second graders who could write better copy than this.
Shouldn’t be surprising given that there are a lot of retired special forces vets and there are always going to be a certain percentage of bad apples, some of whom were booted out early or later for that reason.
I think even AI could write better.

The local gun shop had a Barrett a while back. The price tag was over $11k.
How many illicit Barretts will $600K buy? Not many.
Think about it. A Barrett M82 will cost ~$10K out the door.
How much resale premium is required to make it worth smuggling thousands of miles into Mexico?
At a delivered price of $50K each, that's 12 rifles.
Drop in a bucket for cartel money…. Serious hardware being transferred to bad actors to be used against us.
Yet we alphabet agencies raiding parents homes for getting angry at their local school board leftists….
Very poorly written article. Long sentences leaving a person wondering just exactly what was said. Must be some AI crap or written by some kid freshly pushed through journo school.
Reuters usually writes their propaganda so its an easy read, for those that can stomach it.
In reply to my own comment, my mistake. It appears srmanuel’s narrative is what’s poorly written, very poorly written. The Reuters article is an easy read.
I’m surprised that at this point the cartels haven’t just purchased the tooling to start making their own weaponry outright.
My thoughts exactly..piss poor unintelligible writing.

Right! Incomplete sentence from a supposed journalist?
Need to air-tag a few and send a Hellfire chaser.
All of which should have editors.
