Washington state is grappling with a multi-billion dollar budget deficit, prompting some Democrats to propose a wealth tax as a potential solution. However, there is still no consensus on the exact size of the deficit or a clear analysis of how the state arrived at this point.
Washington is facing a severe budget crisis, with the state’s deficit reaching billions of dollars after years of unchecked spending. Some Democrats are suggesting that a wealth tax could be the answer to this financial problem. However, there is still no agreement on the precise amount of the deficit, nor is there a thorough analysis of the factors that led to this situation.

They’ve held the WH and both houses of Congress for how many years, since Obama was elected?
They could have enacted a “wealth tax” at any point during those intervals. Why didn’t they?

Yes do it! Washington needs to implement a minimum of a 90% wealth tax, make those rich people pay!
LMAO I so hope they do this, seriously, they (Wash. lib voters) deserve it good and hard!

To Dems, there is no problem that taxes won’t solve. I’m completely convinced that Dems think all money is their money, and they simply allow us to have some of it.

"multi-billion dollar budget deficit""Multi" as in maybe a mere two or three billion? Or a few billion?
What about 2,000 billions? Is 2,000 just "multi"?
The author should have written "multi-TRILLION dollar deficit."

Oops, Washington State, not Washington, D.C. I naturally think D.C. when “deficits” is written.

Democrats propose a wealth tax because they have no desire to rein in the real problem, excess spending, and extra-Constitutional spending. This is why the Democrats are so angry about Elon Musk: he threatens the continuation of the distribution of OUR money to those they think are more deserving. In other words, wealth redistribution.
But not THEIR wealth. How do people on under $200K/year get to amass more than ten million dollars in just a few years?
