Female cops are cool when they are screwing every male cop on the force like that ugly chick that time. Where was that? Otherwise, they don’t belong on the force.

Fortunate that it didn’t get one of the big blood vessels or Mr. Arrington would have died.

He’s now financially set for life though, or ought to be.

No comment re the cop involved...

I just got my LTC - I think I’ll just take off the holster while driving. Counting on a law enforcement officer to safely disarm you seems like a bad bet.

That’s why it’s always good to put the ‘safety’ on... Oops! She obviously assumed this dude would’ve done that, but for some reason he must have had the safety off... That’s on him, not her.

There was NO reason to disarm the man for a minor traffic violation.

There is NO reason to have females as beat cops.

I hope he gets all the money due to him, and retires.

Women should not be allowed on the police force in that capacity. They aren’t strong enough to subdue a larger man. They can’t pull an adult from a burning car. Etc. Especially on a police force that lowers the physical fitness bar to accommodate them.

Thank God for the body cam. twenty years ago, in some parts of the country, the man might have been killed with his own gun after the accidental discharge...(shot while resisting arrest).

A few years back there was a somewhat analogous incident that involved someone securing a striker-fired, no manual safety, semiauto pistol that was being carried sloppily AIWB (by someone not allowed to possess a firearm). It was related to me by an LEO friend and it did make me a little less sanguine about the handgun model I favored at that time.

A few years later, I decided to change what I carried to a more "belt AND suspenders" - so to speak - handgun operating system WRT (my) safety. The idea of some DEI hire fumbling for my pistol helped make manual safeties great again ("MMSGA").

Egad. This is bad. Shooting the guy with his own gun while trying to extract it.

To be fair, it sounds dangerous trying to extract a handgun from a holster while the person is seated in his car. Nothing about that sounds safe.

But I guess that is how they have to do it? After all, I am guessing you wouldn’t want someone pulling it out with their own hand to give to the police officer.

But having someone else pull it out sounds more awkward and dangerous.

The guy sounds like he did everything right.

"The burden of proving an individual is not eligible to carry a concealed firearm falls on the investigating officer and is not an automatic presumption," the memo reads. "Unless an officer has articulable suspicion that the detained person presents a threat to the safety of citizens or officers or has knowledge that the detained person is ineligible to carry a concealed firearm, officers should not seize a firearm (i.e. remove it from holster, vehicle, pocket, bag, etc.) from someone lawfully carrying it."

Why not just show the cop your permit, what's with the cop disarming this person????

She had two fingers inside the trigger guard and used them to pull his gun out of the holster.
