Hudson was first approached by Ronnie Hawkins and Levon Helm in the summer of 1961, after a Kapers show in London, and asked to join the Hawks, an offer he declined. The Hawks persisted, and in December 1961, Hudson agreed to join the band on two conditions: that Hawkins buy him a Lowrey organ, and that he be paid an extra $10 a week by each of the other band members to give music lessons to the other Hawks.

The Last Waltz is the best rock and roll movie ever made.

Lib guitarist at my gig last night sang “Bad Moon Rising” and said it was an “obvious pick” due to what happened yesterday.
I loved the wahh-wahh grief and answered by singing Route 66, cause it’s time to hit the road and motor on!

I’ve never understood the cult-like following of ‘The Band’
Is it something like dead-heads? (Grateful Dead enthusiasts)
Don’t get me wrong, I like some GD music, but I can’t think of one single song by ‘The Band’
