If President Trump reverses the ban, I want to see a MULTITUDE of TikTok posts expressing sincere gratitude. The bill provides the President the authority with a 90 day extension.
The deadline is tomorrow. And Biden is still the President. But it's on the holiday weekend so.....
So in theory, the app may still work as Trump is being sworn in. And he can announce a 90 day extension. However, TikTok announced they'll shut down the app tomorrow if Biden is doing nothing.
Trump can pressure Congress to come up with a bill to "save" TikTok.
Or he can try to negotiate ByteDance to sell TikTok to an American company (ByteDance said that TikTok is not for sale).

They lived without it before.
They can now, too.
They need to get a life is theirs revolves around social media.

The law empowers the president to pause the ban for 90 days if and only if TikTok shows it’s in the process of separating from chinese owner ByteDance, i.e., has an impending sale or other divestment in process ...

The total ban is not likely to happen. Trump himself wants TikTok to keep functioning in some manner. The trick will be to buy it from the Chinese. I guess they are done soaking up personal data from oblivious Americans. At least for now.

I was surprised to see news stories in my feed this morning about TikTok. It appears that the independent music industry is using TikTok to introduce new talent to a young audience, making it easier for budding artists to get noticed and build a catalog. Not discussed is why other platforms are not as attractive to newbies.
I know that YouTube and Instagram have been used by TV shows like The Voice and *_got_talent to identify potential acts to showcase. Not so much TikTok, and never heard of the Red whatever platform before.
I'm NOT a social media person. Take my comment with the appropriate amount of salt.
