In the last three elections, Donald Trump has steadily increased his share of the vote in Chicago, from 12.4% in 2016, to 15.8% in 2020, to 21.4% in 2024. In Illinois as a whole, Trump’s percentage jumped from 40.5% in 2020 to 44.3% last November. #WalkAway

A big boost for Trump among black voters in this election but still far behind on a total percentage basis. Still, a hopeful trend. A long way to go to heal the Dem Plantation syndrome where they wait for the Dem masters to give them great rewards as “the little guy.”

Harris appears to have won 80 percent of the Black vote, according to an exit poll by The Associated Press.
But that’s a drop of 10 percentage points compared with 2020 when Joe Biden won 90% of the black votes nationally.
Trump won 20 percent this time and 13 percent of the vote in 2020 and 8 percent in 2016 — which in itself was the highest level of support by black voters for any Republican since George W Bush in 2000.
Good to hear, but the last time Illinois voted for a Republican governor (it takes Chicago to elect anyone for Statewide office due to the amount of it’s population), he was a crook and ended up in prison. And Chicago hasn’t had a Republican mayor since 1931.
If you want the city to flip, all you have to do is enforce honest elections. Chicago hasn’t had one for 150 years.

And Big Bill Thompson was so crooked that, when he died, they had to wind him into the ground like a corkscrew.
They’ll just vote for different Democrats.
Chicago has two choices, they can be bulldozed like Detroit or burned down like LA. Either way Chicago is dying.
Now, for the bad news...
A solid majority of Republicans quietly support, or quietly ignore, massive legal immigration.
Since 70% of new Naturalized Citizens, and their minor children, will vote for the Democratic Party, any political defections by older immigrants are simply erased by new immigrants.

that’s not correct. Republican Bruce Rauner was elected to serve as IL Gov. for 4 years in 2014. Not that long ago.
Republicans can win IL elections if Chicago can be brought to heel.
I was totally unaware of that. I lived in Illinois the first 49 years of my life, but haven’t paid much attention.
Not sure how old this is, but she called him the worst mayor in America. I think he’s been one-upped by Bass — IMO.
