We’re all old enough to remember when Gavin Newsom and his band of progressive cronies basically legalized looting in California, right? Thanks to the soft-on-crime crowd, looting has turned into its own booming industry—and it’s now spreading like wildfire. Pun sadly intended.
Who can forget the viral videos of typical thugs ransacking stores, casually sauntering out with up to $950 worth of stolen goods, knowing they’d face zero consequences? That’s the progressive brilliance of California’s Prop 47—a law so utterly absurd it pretty much gives criminals a free pass to loot, as long as they stay under the magic $950 threshold.
The kicker is that California proudly touted this as the “toughest” law in the land, even comparing it to Texas, where felonies aren’t charged until theft hits $2,500. But here’s the big difference: in Texas, even if someone steals $100 worth of goods, they’re still charged with something. In California, under Prop 47, petty theft has been reduced to people just standing there watching and filming looting and encouraging this type of rampant lawlessness:

Now, it can’t come as a shock to anyone who’s been paying even the slightest bit of attention that
Bill Melugin:
NEW: Santa Monica PD tells me they’ve arrested 10 burglary suspects in #PalisadesFire evacuation zones since the fire began, none of whom live in Santa Monica. Six had burglary tools with them, one pair had the Watch Duty app open on their phone to track evac zones. SMPD says they were able to stop these attempted burglaries before they were carried out. Details & booking photos for four suspects below, per @SantaMonicaPD.
I’m told 29-year-old JOSHUA KALIEL LOVE (grey shirt), was spotted in a Santa Monica apartment breezeway, and ran. After a brief foot chase, SMPD says he was caught and found to be in possession of a dagger, a window breaking tool, a mask, gloves, and narcotics. He was on probation, and has been charged w/ attempted burglary.
I’m told 22-year-old MIGUEL ANGEL DORANTES and 18-year-old DOMINIC PACHECOMANGA (black & white shirts) were in a van together, and were pulled over by SMPD after they ran a stop sign. SMPD says they were unable to provide ID, and had the Watch Duty app opened on their phone, which they claimed they were using to track fire acreage. After a search of the van. SMPD found burglary tools, ski masks, gloves and bags. Both arrested for attempted burglary.
I’m told 27-year-old GABRIEL ISAIH STOKES (navy hoodie) was pulled over by SMPD after an auto plate reader got a hit on the car he was driving as stolen out of Hawthorne, CA. SMPD says he had a stolen California ID, as well as other fraudulent IDs, burglary tools, a ski mask and black beanie, and large bags. He had priors for burglary, robbery, and grand theft. Charged in this incident with grand theft & false impersonation.
Overall, SMPD says they’ve arrested 39 people in evacuation zones since the start of the fire, none of whom live in Santa Monica. Those not charged w/ attempted burglary were picked up for curfew violations, drug possession, warrants, probation violations, etc. Most of the attempted burglary charges were via PC 459.
SMPD says there were two successful burglaries where suspects got away, and those cases are under active investigation.
And another not-so-shocking turn of events is that many of the looters look exactly as you’d expect them to.
At this point, it’s not far-fetched to think there’s something bigger—and far more opportunistic—at play.
We covered this theory recently.
Revolver:
But when it comes to the horrific looting, it’s starting to look like a very well-organized operation. A hundred looters on scooters trying to break into people’s homes… That doesn’t sound spontaneous or random, like the usual scenes of folks busting into a Foot Locker to grab Air Jordans on the fly.
But it gets worse. Brian Norgard, the former CPO of Tinder, claims he witnessed over ten crews of “cartel-organized” looters tactically breaking into homes in the Hollywood Hills.
Brian Norgard:
Today I saw more than 10 crews of cartel organized looters tactically going from house-to-house in Hollywood Hills.
They have spotters. SUVs full of young men in masks. Burner rental cars.
It’s like a military operation. Do not put your guard down if you live in Los Angeles—especially at night. These people are extremely dangerous.
The icing on top of this disastrous liberal cake is Newsom and his crew suddenly pretending to be outraged over looting—after sitting back and watching it happen to businesses all over the state without lifting a finger and tying police and prosecutors’ hands.
And now, just like the businesses destroyed by California’s soft-on-crime looting free-for-all, homeowners are feeling the burn too. Again, sadly, pun intended.
At some point, the people of California will need to make some hard choices. Those obsessed with social issues, “firsts,” and DEI initiatives must ask themselves how much of their personal safety, freedom, and livelihoods they’re willing to sacrifice on the progressive altar for a few liberal brownie points. Meanwhile, those who disagree with the disastrous way this once-thriving state has been run into the ground will have to decide: find a way to take back their state or abandon this sinking ship.
One way or another, something’s gotta give.
We need more diversity in our looters. Women are underrepresented.
And don’t forget the trannies.................
Kamala bailing them out?
She supported the bail fund for the rioters and looters in other cities.
Can she get a find going for Brentwood?

“Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose”
They don’t have much left to lose.........................
Law of the jungle.
WHAT A COINKYDINK! The same poor, little “BROWN” scumbags Former Cuban refugee, Mayorkass, claims are going to be “hurt” by the passage of the Laken Riley Act.
The woke academics and their woke politicians and their woke prosecutors and the woke media all worked overtime convincing stupid people their actions will not have consequences for themselves. Why with all that would they not go out and start fires???
I remember the good old days when the police and military were authorized to shoot to kill looters in a crisis like this. That would stop it.
They used to shoot looters. Just sayin’. Now they’re coddled under the Law of DEI. Don’t want to be a racist, that’s the worst!
I wonder how long our society will survive. Even after the looting is done and neighborhoods are restored (20 years?) these vermin will wreak other sorts of havoc in their families and cities. I am pessimistic about human nature as I get older. Convince me otherwise, I prefer to think positively.
But..but the libs for the last 40 years have been promising us all these benefits from an open/porous border.
diversity and stuff.
The ‘voters’ of California are so ingrained to believe that these poor looters are just trying to survive and feed their poor families that they will not mind them taking stuff..............
Mugshots? Should be obituary notices ⚰️☠️

No mention the Prop 47 has been OVERTURNED by Prop 36?
Yes, the $950 threshold no longer applies.
This is why democrats will still win. Even if every homeowner who lost their home changed their votes they are outnumbered ten fold by these criminals and those who envy the wealthy and think those rich guys had it coming. One thing democrats know how to do is stir up envy and hatred for votes. If anything, California will go more commie.
"...Time to think the unthinkable: Chilean gangs, or similar, are lighting these fires so they can loot the evacuated homes..."
Does this sound even remotely outlandish to anyone else?
BECAUSE IT SURE AS HELL DOES NOT SOUND OUTLANDISH TO ME.
People like this, like Leftists, would have zero compunction about doing this to advance their agenda.
For people who might be part of some Central or South American sh**hole, it is lawlessness, chaos, and financial gain.
For Leftists, it is lawlessness, chaos, financial gain, AND power.
I figured that was the ‘cause’ from the beginning.
Either that, or Climate Change...............🙄
