Adam is back from his evacuation to Vegas with an update on the state of his condo and the structures along California’s Pacific Coast Highway. He dives into viral clips sparked by the wildfires, including a black, female firefighter highlighting the importance of diversity in the LAFD and LA’s water chief explaining how the Department of Water & Power operates with “an equity lens.”
Adam also reflects on his experience applying to become a firefighter and the one test that derailed his efforts. He discusses how the devastation in Los Angeles could potentially speed up rebuilding regulations, a dramatic confrontation between a Palisades woman and Governor Newsom, and the news of Hunter Biden losing his Malibu rental.
Later, Dawson joins the show to cover stories in the news:
Gov. Newsom's executive order to streamline rebuilding efforts
The LA fire chief admitting the city’s failures in wildfire preparation
Mark Zuckerberg telling Joe Rogan about heated demands from Biden officials for Facebook content removal Tune in for Adam’s insights, fiery commentary, and all the latest updates. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!
Maybe Carolla could just play some 90s Huell Howser doing spring burns with the LAFD back when California was sane
High winds, low moisture and structural faults are a bad combination.
They can spell die.
DEI is just a very expensive encumbrance.

mainly:
double pane windows, especially on fire-risk side
no eave overhang
minimal venting (and none at soffit level)
coat exterior wood with one inch of cementous stuff (top may be coated with fire preventative stuff instead)
~one-inch-thick exterior stucco (to prevent lumber in walls from getting too hot & catching fire)
And let me add thermally activated shutoff valves for both water and natural gas.

Plus the LA Mayor is an honorary citizen of a Third
World country, and is the most hated person on the planet.
I’ve watched a few fire videos on X.
One video was of two motorcyclists driving down a street with burning buildings and flying embers.
Another video was of the dead upper parts of palm trees in front of a McDonald’s emitting burning embers.
“all I saw was almost like a sideways tornado, sort of, because it just kept rolling and the sound was coming from it as it continued to roll. And all of a sudden, we watched that wind just come down and we saw everything just bend the trees, it was just like, it was crazy”
Palm trees in LA County neighborhoods at risk need to be given what we in Florida call a hurricane cut (a marketing gimmick, the trees are cut excessively) to remove almost all easily burnable material.
Soak the outside of the trees afterward.
One picture shown on FR showed a tree with broken off branches. That indicates an explosion or great wind force. I would suggest covering windows with galvanized sheet metal like we cover windows with plywood here in Florida for hurricanes, overlapping upper over lower metal sheets if necessary.
Soaking the dead material of palms repeatedly might work too and probably should be done if you can’t trim them.
Storm windows might be helpful if you can’t get sheet metal.
Aluminum screens can be covered lightly with cement and then used.
Mow the lawn as close to the ground as you can. Rake it up well. Bury all yard waste and mulch material.
There are sprinkler remote control systems and home monitoring systems.
Homeowners can act as their own firemen from motel rooms miles away.
A lawn sprinkler can be supplied by a buried hose. Near the house the hose could be run through a metal pipe to the faucet.
Place the sprinkler to spray on the most likely to be impacted side facing the likely wind.
One might buy a bag of cement and make a slurry to blush over exterior wood.
If you evacuate, take the propane tanks, lithium batteries, and gas cans so they don’t explode. Also take the rechargeable toothbrushes and Ni-Cd batteries quite often found in solar outdoor lights.
The government might tell you to take paint in cans, herbicides and pesticides.
It’s amazing that L A has so many dykes and so little water.
