Unionism, decadence, laziness, entailment mentality, greed, taxation polices, product liability, government regulation, especially insane environmental regulation, anti business demagogic by politicians, destruction of our education system, attacks on on American culture and western civilization in general, the rise of the welfare state, negative impacts of demographic shift from baby boom generation to baby bust generation, massive misallocation of resources and a host of other issues all combined to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. Once the ball got rolling, companies had get in line with offshore manufacturing to compete with competitors who were pushing offshore manufacturing.
A generation of American investment in building up foreign competition with massive tech transfer and capitol investment in foreign factories while wiping out our domestic industrial base and we are well and truly screwed.
Our nation is now split between Americans who have a vested interest in the continued decline of America because they are fully invested in our foreign competiton so for them to win the other segment of America must lose.
