Old news, and needn’t be spectacularized. Johnson is doing what we want, not Trump.
All I saw was “Trump kills 24 billion.” Thought it was a bit of an exaggeration.
…..and the Ukie war cheerleaders heads are exploding…..better than that- US taxpayers cheer, no more US taxpayers money getting flushed down the filthy Ukrainian toilet.
This move may have other intended consequences. It will force the Europeans to move ahead with immediate shipments. To this point most European countries are willing to send armaments to Ukraine, but only if they are built locally with local labor. They are building capacity but that takes years. They could spend their money on buying the available hardware from the United States, South Korea or several other suppliers. Also, the countries that were not making their two percent commitment to NATO had already put in place plans to do so in the event Trump was elected. This forces their hand earlier. Their tradeoff was guns or butter, and the butter was going to keep the peace with their internal ethnic minorities who might otherwise be seeking a special ethnic homeland.
European politics makes American politics look like a seventh-grade civics exercise. The various ethnic groups remember when this other group massacred them in 1390, 1705 and 1914. Keeping them well supplied with government handouts holds down the resentment. Take it away and all sorts of internal problems will manifest.
Trump’s thinking is that’s not the problem of the American taxpayer.
