It’s just another pseudo-ST:TOS where writers break the canon outrageously. They do this to show how clever they are much cleverer than the original writers.

I’ve always been proud of being a Trekker. Back in the day I chaired programming language design. Was at a Star Trek convention and bumped into Jean Sammet, then president of ACM, Association of Computing Machinery, another Trekker. We’re everywhere! My picture was in the IBM Research lobby sitting at my desk with a diagram of the Enterprise on the screen behind me. You can travel anywhere in the country and call up a local Trekker and have a friend. It’s a huge and wonderful family. Good to meet you, cousin.

I was born the year TOS was cancelled. However while it was in syndication in the early '70s, I was the little fella making transporter rooms with my Brother using copy paper, scissors and Scotch tape. Drove my folks mad. Had the old models of 1701, shuttlecraft, and some of the action sets. The old, cheap, "Communicator," walkie-talkies.

Of this group, only Robin Curtis was available. The other three actors are dead.

I’m done with everything Shatner after he came out and cried about us electing Donald Trump.

Perhaps he doesn't want to have everything and everyone he knows and loves obliterated by supporting the same side that you and I support.
