SBA Disaster fund is Broke!!!

The Small Business Administration's Disaster Relief Program has NO FUNDS. I was told this by their representative as well as from a disclaimer when you apply for a disaster loan.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration is sending hundreds of millions to the Ukraine and Gaza while Florida and North Carolina are reeling from devastating hurricanes Helene and Milton. Such BS when they say they are doing everything they can.

FEMA is being its usual dysfunctional self, failing TWICE to activate the Blue Roof Program, preventing rented dumpsters with storm refuse from dropping off material, leading to additional damage when the second storm hit, bypassing houses with Trump signs ... it goes on and on

I sustained roof damage in the first storm. I filed a FEMA claim in anticipation to getting a blue roof. You need to start with FEMA to get the all-important DR number. WEEKS later, I get text messages and a robo-call telling me I was eligible for a hotel room. Really? first off, I didn't ask for that and second, what good does it do three weeks later??? I didn't use it.

Well, Milton finished me off and the same drill repeated. This time I needed a SBA Disaster loan for the hurricane deductible. That is when I learned no funds are available. But plenty for Ukraine and Gaza while Xiden lights the fuse on WW3. At least then I won't have to worry about a roof. Maybe I will get another hotel room call in a week or two.

My needs are small compared to those who lost everything. My heart and prayers go out to them.

Please contact your Congresscritters and demand a full investigation into how these storms were handled.

DOGE, put FEMA on your list and let the states get the disaster funds to administer themselves. I have far more faith in Ron DeSantis than anything to come from the Swamp.

Write your congressman and both senators. Let some Washington bureaucrat do some work for a while. Submit a FOIA for your file. Make someone in Fort Worth (is SBA ODA still located there?) do some work.

The Rats cleaned out every nook and corner where there was money to finance their illegals and give-away programs. They robbed the American people!

SBA and FEMA are two separate agencies.

True, but they are both part of the disaster triumvirate of fEMA, SBA, and ACE (Army Corps of Engineers). To file a claim with the latter two, they require you to first file a FEMA claim. FEMA vets the disaster, date, and your zipcode. They then assign a DR number which is a requirement of the other two and yes, separate, agencies.

So it is not FEMA’s fault that SBA has run out of the funding authorized by Congress.

SBA is not broke. Just makes for a good headline.
