The Director of the FBI reports to his boss, the Attorney General. That means if Matt Gaetz is confirmed as Attorney General, FBI Director Christopher Wray MUST report to him. Yes, Matt Gaetz would become Christopher Wray's boss. This would be Wray's WORST nightmare. Would Wray stick around for this to happen? If he did, I doubt he would last a week with Attorney General Gaetz hovering OVER him. This could be President Trump's way of saying "YOU'RE FIRED" to Wray without actually having to say the words.
PING!
Instead of Barbarians at the Gate - it’s Gates at the Barbarians!
In the spirit of bipartisanship, pres Trump should reach across the isle and appoint kamala as border czar lol. J/k!
Yes. Here’s the logic
The U.S. people are in charge of the government
They choose people to run the operation of government and the replace them as they see fit
They chose Donald Frump to be in charge of the executive branch
They are dubious about who actually chose the congress since cheating is very obviously part of the process, which they, the people, we the people, are in the process of fixing- and will succeed in doing so
President elect Trump, in doing the job we chose him to do, has chosen Matt Gaetz to be in charge of Dept of Justice
He will either be in charge of whomever falls under his title or fire them
He will be in charge of adjudicating any case that falls under his jurisdiction
No permission is needed from anyone in those positions nor from anyone who falls under the former administration nor anyone in media play acting being in charge of any of this, nor anyone democrat voter emotionally or angrily or even violently opposing
Donald Frump
Is autocorrect objecting as well?
Yes.
Yeah, no, that’s not happening . . .
Apparently, Wray is planning to retire before Trump takes office.
For F’s sake, Wray should fired before Trump leaves the podium on inauguration day.
Well, according to Steve Bannon, Chris Wray won’t be sticking around and his replacement will be Kash Patel.
Resigning/retiring probably exempts Wray from some internal actions and protects his retirement benefits. We’ll see.
Wray will quit or be fired before he ever hears a word from Gaetz.
No he’s not: either because he will not pass confirmation, or because Wray is fired.
He said he wouldn't quit, but we shall see. I'd prefer he stay so Gaetz can fire him.
Lol- there is an old saying, excuse the language, “To he’ll with autocorrect” lol
Yup. Then arrest him.
Gaetz won't be confirmed? Well, according to Mark Halperin, don't be so sure of it. Oh, and there is also the Recess Appointment route.
I also think that firing Wray may be the smartest of ideas for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the Democrats carefully crafted talking point that Trump is going to persecute his opponents like Wray out of revenge and vindictive anger.
No doubt Wray needs to go and he deserves to be fired but the best way to get Wray is set him to be exposed for all his malfeasance and perjury over the last 8 year.
He can then be forced to resign in disgrace while under criminal investigation and facing indictments. This prevents a media sympathy campaign for Wray and gives Trump political capitol to spend.
Team Trump can easily fire and/or relocate or reassign all of the corrupt FBI officials in the chain of command and replace them with Trump loyalists committed to reforming the FBI and holding people in the FBI who have broken the law accountable.
Wray is then effectively isolated and under heavy scrutiny. He can be forced to go to Congress and testify at a time when he can no longer hide evidence and lie. In essence , force the guy to investigate and expose himself and his corrupt tenure at FBI
FBI director is a very unique position. Once Wray's henchman are gone, there is very little he can do and, as FBI director, he is legally subject to surveillance as part of his job description and he can be put in this position.
I think Wray will resign before getting fired.
Wray conducted the raid on Mar a Lago, he’s gone.
