If they did, they wouldn’t tell anyone because they have two years to decide.

' "No one other than Justices Thomas and Alito knows when or if they will retire, and talking about them like meat that has reached its expiration date is unwise, uninformed and frankly just crass,” Leo said, according to CNN.'
Only Sotomayor knows when or if she will retire, too. She should do a Ginsburg and stay right where she is.

“this is a man who has never thought about this job from a political perspective”
It is merely a coincidence that every justice who has retired recently has done so during a presidency of the party they are most associated with.
To: DFG
I suspect Judge Thomas would be ready to retire.
He’s been sent through the wringer and back again, starting with, of all people, Joe Biden! “A High Tech Lynching”.
To: Dr. Sivana
i mean, Vance can choose their successors...
sorry.

Ridiculous....Cruz would be the logical choice.
To: teeman8r
They should do it for the team but what do I know?
To: teeman8r
Vance is an assumption at this point.
To: teeman8r
Carson has no background in law.

I don’t see our Republican Senators openly pushing for them to retire unlike the Democrats crass suggestions to Sotomayor.

“Carson has no background in law.”
The same could be said about Sotomayo and and Ketanji Jackson. (Kagan is a lib, but she at least knows the law; whether she applies it correctly, is a separate question. Same for Roberts.)
