Use Brave browser. It’s flawless for me.
Wife’s laptops (W10-11) keep getting Ed-Gee (as I call it) re-installed and clogs things up.
Constant war to keep removing the damn thing.
no problems with WIn 7.
“so only open it when something I’m trying to do doesn’t like my preferred browser.”
I use Pale Moon for that purpose.
F MS and gates
Cannot abide Google!
And only suffer Microsoft because I cannot bring myself to deal with Linux.
Yeah, get you. Have a full Linux kernal loaded on my laptop. Works. But the MSFT/Windows stuff is just easier to use. Sigh.
I use edge. I hide all their news. They will be getting an update in December, where it’s going to be even faster.
I’ve been on Firefox since about 2007 and have it configured just as I want it.
I also have Brave and use Edge in rare situations because web page coders tend to not always test their code with Firefox.
Google Chrome is a no-go zone for me.
Change the start-up page to something your prefer. But that doesn’t work flawlessly, and subsequent tabs/windows for the same profile may revert to the default MSN nonsense. Maybe there’s a setting to deal with that.
Steps:
- Settings
- Start, home, and new tabs
- When Edge starts
- Open these pages (about:blank)
Side note: Edge is build upon Chromium, end tends to work better than Chrome for typical consumer requirements.
the Woke Mozilla jerks protested Brendan Eich, so to this day, I avoid Mozilla.
Ironically, Eich is a co-founder of Brave which is based on Chromium.
Check out Librewolf.
“A custom version of Firefox, focused on privacy, security and freedom.”
Ready to go right out of the box. I love it.
My Brave browser opens to FR...
“You can hide their news entirely. Don’t recall how, but it wasn’t difficult.”
I did that, too. I’d get so mad when that crap was showing up. Had to do it on my cell phone as well.
“I’d rather not use Edge, though, so only open it when something I’m trying to do doesn’t like my preferred browser.”
I don’t understand or like even though it isn’t my default browser.
“I suggest switching to Brave “
I have both Brave and Google. I get better query results from Google, especially for images. Both browsers are always open for me.
Brave is what I use for my Outlook email because ads aren’t popping up all over the place. If I go to any site in Google and ads are annoying, I just copy the address and paste it into Brave.
I use the Brave browser. For web searches, I use Yandex for any topic that might remotely be political.
He’s the anti-Christ. (IMO)
press the Windows key on your keyboard..... has a flag on it
Brave Brave Brave
My Edge homepage is Duck-Duck-Go
Just take the plunge. You owe it to yourself to just devote an entire day to rewire and change all of your passwords..I recommend at least once every 3 months, or at least once every six months.
