CHICAGO — A man who twice broke windows at the Trump International Hotel & Tower this year, causing $145,000 in damage, told police that he does it whenever he sees the former president during a mental health episode, according to a Chicago police report.
Andrew Brierly, 21, is charged with two counts of criminal damage between $10,000 and $100,000.
Brierly threw stones to break six windows at the complex, 401 North Wabash, on October 16, the report said. Damages allegedly totaled $80,000.
A Trump security officer recognized Brierly and informed police that he had done the same thing on May 17, causing $65,000 in damages.
Cops arrested Brierly at his Rogers Park home after the security guard picked him out of a photo line-up, the report said.
A Chicago police supervisor noted in the report that Brierly told officers that seeing Trump while having an episode “makes him do it.”
Judge Deidre Dyer released Brierly to await trial.
