McDonald’s shares dropped in after-hours trading on Tuesday after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported an E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald’s Quarter Pounders, which led to one death and ten hospitalizations.
The CDC reported 49 cases of E. coli contamination in 10 states, with the majority of those cases in Colorado and Nebraska.
According to the CDC, most people who were sick from the contamination reported eating a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder.
As a precautionary measure, McDonald’s in several states has stopped serving quarter-pound beef patties and fresh onions until the source of the illnesses is confirmed.
Investigators are still working to confirm which ingredient in the Quarter Pounder has led to the outbreak.
After the CDC’s report, McDonald’s shares dropped 9% in after-hours trading.

The latest WEAPONIZED “government agency”. This bass turds are really worried about their receiving a government check for the holidays. I hope Trump fires every one of the RATS in on this retribution.
What’s interesting is that the investigation start date is listed as October 22, i.e. today. Rather suspicious.
This kind of stuff happens - two days after Trump’s McDonald’s appearance - and we are demonized for asking questions about it.
Do they use different patties for the Big Mac?
Indeed.
Well, whoda thunk?
People get E. coli all the time.
How do they know this illness came from a McDonald’s burger? Correlation does not imply causation...
Claimed, without evidence™, naturally.
How convenient.
CDC.
Election interference.

That tells me all I need to know about the lying lefty media.
Made me decide to have a quarter pounder for dinner.
Eff the Deep State.
>>”Do they use different patties for the Big Mac?”
I think so.
One thing for sure if it’s from undercooked beef, and from a franchisee, they could very well lose their franchise, that was the threat decades ago after Jack In the Box killed multiple people with undercooked beef and the standard was was changed to cooking the patties to the consistency and flavor of a hockey puck.
What I don’t get is the multiple locations, even if the supplier to McDonald’s in those states really screwed the pooch and shipped batches of infected meat, the cooking standards should have taken care of it. And since McDonald’s doesn’t use raw or even thawed beef I would lean towards the onions, pickles or sanitation practices, especially handwashing…which once again if egregious enough could cost a franchisee his operation.
I am very inter In how this plays out, what the investigation turns up in the way of actual proof of contamination versus anecdotal or even false reports. It seems like awful convenient timing.
OMG what bastards these people are, this government is completely out of control, we can NO LONGER go on like this!!
I would be suspicious of the McRib sandwich. What the heck are those made from?
Yeah, sure…..
You would think that we’d have heard of this back in September since McDonalds is a world wide co. When a load of E. coli lettuce with far less distribution provokes an instantaneous hair on fire report it’s down right odd that we hear of this so late.
