Panic at the Polls: Democrats Now Pretend Numbers Don’t Count
Flopping Aces ^ | 10-14-24 | Jeff Childers

Last week, the phrase “Democrats panic” surged into corporate media headlines, despite the polling showing Harris up a couple points at that time. But yesterday, Democrat panic reached even higher levels of awkwardness when the New York Times published liberal stalwart Ezra Klein’s latest op-ed with this astonishing title:

Ignore the polls? One detects a marked lack of confidence on the Democrat side. But why? What’s really going on? The answer might be found in less partisan foreign headlines, like yesterday’s from Al Jazeera:

If the polls show your candidate losing, then the polls don’t mean anything. Democrats’ current problem seems to be a Harris slide.

Last week, the polls —whatever they’re worth— showed Harris up by several points. But those small leads have flatlined and are now non-detectable. The problem is the trend. It keeps going the wrong way. That’s why previously poll-happy pundits like Klein are getting ahead of Harris’s inglorious slipping, and are warning Democrat readers to ignore the polls.

But of course, ignoring is not a strategy.

Just this morning, USA Today ran a related story headlined, “Donald Trump takes betting lead over Kamala Harris for first time since debate.” I’ve reported before on Trump’s lead on the betting site Polymarket, but USA Today aggregates several such sites, and finds Trump now ahead everywhere.

Ignore the polls.

It’s actually good advice for democrats to give, for 2 reasons.

First, if democrat voters get demoralized and don’t show up to vote, then the polls will be more than just a harbinger, they will be self-fullfilling.

Second, we all know that in certain places, the number of voters and the number of ballots are not necessarily the same thing.

I wonder what the plan is if
1) they lose the vote and
2) they’re unable to win by cheating?

I saw some self-styled “conservative” named Charlie Sykes who has endorsed Harris and trashes Trump. Sykes reminds me of one of the “opposition” that the Soviets used to trot out to show that they tolerated dissent; they would never say anything of consequence and were given access to party stores and other goodies in return for their betrayal of whatever principles they may have had.

“Ignore the polls... translation: Cheating will fix things.”

You just defined democrat election strategy. That, and laundering as much of the “campaign contributions” in their own coffers as possible.

They don't need to. It's who counts the votes, who has the authority, who runs the Justice Department, and who runs the media.

We are just casual observers of our conclusion as a Republic.

FR said ignore the polls in 2020 because Trump would outperform.

They must have the same rationale now.

From our Declaration of Independence the document that insures our Right to form a government (2 so far);

“when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

Is it any wonder that the DemonRAT/RINO installed petty bureaucrats have declared the Declaration to be a subversive(to them) document?

Most elections have that point where a decisive move happens toward the eventual winner. It seems to have happened.
