Wyoming radiologist Eric Cubin petitioned the federal court in Cheyenne last week to reinstate him to Wyoming’s Board of Medicine.
Cubin was appointed to the board, which oversees the licensing and regulations of the medical profession, by Republican Gov. Mark Gordon in 2023 and reappointed to another four-year term last March. Only weeks after his reappointment, the governor’s chief of staff notified him by telephone that the governor had removed him from the board. After hanging up, he received a letter from the governor, via email, that confirmed his removal and stated its cause.
Gordon wrote, “I have been made aware of your email to the members of the House of Representatives during this last legislative session regarding SF0099 in which you strongly encouraged the members to pass this legislation and criticized the Wyoming Medical Society’s opposition to this bill.”
SF0099 was originally named Chloe’s Law after Chloe Cole, a woman who was given hormone blockers and testosterone at the age of 13 and underwent a mastectomy at 15. The bill prohibits physicians and health care providers in Wyoming from performing surgeries and prescribing drugs to minor children “for the purposes of transitioning a child’s biological sex.”
While overwhelmingly supported by the public and passed by the legislature, Chloe’s Law was vehemently opposed by the Wyoming Medical Society (WMS), a lobbying group that carries a lot of clout in Cheyenne.

Evil.
75% of the “republicans” in WY local and state govt are rinos at best, mostly democrats who say a few correct things to get elected
The title seems misleading/confused. Sounds like Cubin’s removal was justified and good, based on how I read the article, but the title makes it sound like the Governor is the bad guy. Am I reading this right?
So then, You are not allowed to serve on a public medical board, in a conservative state , unless you are liberal on all this transgender surgery stuff?
You must be in favor of transgender surgeries and cross sex hormones and the whole nine yards , in order to be in public service in the medical profession.?
I’m also confused by this poorly-written article.
Years and years of indoctrination from kindergarten to college allows voters to choose automatons who say the acceptable phrases in order to be elected.
Then you get tone deaf governors like Gordon to acquiesce to the “enlightened” medical board.
There are many, many doctors who disagree with mutilation of humans based on the subjects “feelings”...are there enough to start a national medical accreditation board that rivals or supercedes the government sanctioned boards?
Are there enough health insurance companies, hospitals, etc, which would only recognize those doctors accredited by the independent boards?
No
“Am I reading this right?”
No. Cubin is against the mutilation of children. The governor is for it.
Must be from the Cheney GOP.
Gov is about to get Cheneyed.
Ok, I re-read it now and I see what seems to be going on. Geez, how can Wyoming of all places have a governor that opposes a bill that prohibits child mutilation?
Re-read it and now it makes sense. Wyoming needs a new governor.
No. Please read it again.
Dr Cubin was in favor of “Chloe's Law” (Chloe is a 24-year-old DE-transitioner who was transitioned as a 12-year-old by unscrupulous doctors.) The Wyoming Medical Society (think “Big Pharma” influence) is against “Chloe's Law” because “transing” is now a multi-billion dollar industry.
The Governor IS a BAD GUY and the Wyoming Medical Society is equally bad!!!.
Yep, I re-read it and you are correct.
And Dr Mengela lives on...
Evil.

May these child mutilation promoters burn in hell. As adults, they know damn well that children do not know who they are at certain times in their early development. Deferring to a child to answer that question is an abomination.
The gov. doesn’t understand ‘first, do no harm’.
The Governor is a lifelong rich kid socialite from new England. Never had any identifiable job I can see.
“Early life and education
Gordon was born in New York City, the son of Catherine (née Andrews) and Crawford Gordon. Gordon’s father grew up on Drumlin Farm, in Lincoln, Massachusetts. His parents married on October 27, 1945, at the First Unitarian Church of Kennebunk, Maine, before settling at their ranch in Kaycee, Wyoming, in 1947.[1]
Gordon’s paternal grandmother was the philanthropist Louise Ayer Hatheway. His paternal great-grandfather was the industrialist and mill magnate Frederick Ayer, founder of the American Woolen Company, and younger brother of the patent medicine tycoon James Cook Ayer, both of Lowell, Massachusetts.
He is a nephew of the socialite Jean Gordon. Gordon is also a great-nephew by marriage of General George S. Patton, and a first cousin once removed of General George Patton IV.[2][3] He was raised on his family’s ranch in Johnson County, Wyoming. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Middlebury College in 1979.[4]”
