The tension of the anticipation might be the fuel for all the infighting. What would be the response? How bad will it be? Should they have fired the missiles at all if they weren’t capable of reaching the targets? Who will assume power if certain leaders are killed? What to do if nuclear facilities are hit?
That’s my ‘4D chess’ concern. Why launch such an inept attack knowing that that Israel will respond in a very predictable, while justified, manner?
It’s almost as though other forces want to escalate the war in the region - to what end? I would imagine beyond that of Israel.
This is rather like how a lumberjack proceeds to get a tree cut nearly off, encouraging the tree to fall a certain direction, by setting wedges and cutting out a notch on the side toward the desired fall.
These things must be done delicately.
