But How can you modulate a sonic wave that can be detected at RF frequencies?

I don’t see how this could work.

It's most likely about timing and amplitude. By knowing exactly when and where the sonic booms took place and hearing their timing and amplitude on the broadcast it's a matter of letting AI crunch the data, given the correct questions...and pretty quickly you have a triangulation, a very close approximation of where the broadcast came from, hence the like 8 bombs used.

This is my take on the information I have on hand, please feel free to correct me as I am NOT an expert in any of this...
