Breaking: Fluoride in Water Poses ‘Unreasonable Risk’ to Children, Federal Judge Rules
The Defender ^ | 09/25/2024 | Brenda Baletti

In a decision that could end the practice of water fluoridation in the U.S., a federal judge late Tuesday ruled that water fluoridation at current U.S. levels poses an “unreasonable risk” of reduced IQ in children.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can no longer ignore that risk, and must take regulatory action, Judge Edward Chen of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California wrote in the long-awaited landmark decision.

More than 200 million Americans drink water treated with fluoride at the “optimal” level of 0.7 milligrams per liter (mg/L). However, Chen ruled that a preponderance of scientific evidence shows this level of fluoride exposure may damage human health, particularly that of pregnant mothers and young children.

The verdict delivers a major blow to the EPA, public health agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and professional lobbying groups like the American Dental Association (ADA), which have staked their reputations on the claim that water fluoridation is one of the greatest public health achievements of the 20th century and an unqualified public good.

Fluoride proponents refused to reexamine that stance despite mounting scientific evidence from top researchers and government agencies of fluoride’s neurotoxic risks, particularly for infants’ developing brains.

Instead, they attempted to weaken and suppress the research and discredit the scientists carrying it out.

I don’t believe it’s the government’s business to force medication on people. I ask those who are in favor of the government making us drink this stuff if they are also in favor of the government forcing us to get mRNA shots

The government has decided that mRNA is good for you so they’re working on ways to put it into your food. How’s that set with you?

DDT use ended right about the same time Polio quit being a nation wide “disease”. The absence of Polio we were told was driven by the vaccine, but it was more likely the cessation of the use of DDT, which they used to spray on milking cows.

This “black robed pig” as you called him, might have been looking at the data presented in the case, which you most likely know nothing about(I don’t either).

Oh yeah, fluoride in the drinking water is awesome. Read up on the facts, not just believe water suppliers who are paid beaucoup dollars to rid manufacturers of the poison they would have to pay to be stored or destroyed.

Fluoride lowers IQs it messes with the Thyroid gland and also causes obesity. The link to better teeth is not worth it. Just sell bottled fluoride water to give to kids, see if anyone buys it.

I paid for a very expensive water filter to rid myself of fluoride and chlorine. Otherwise, city water is for watering the lawn, washing dishes or giving to the neighbors cats who I hate.

Fluoride, and mouthwash kills the bacteria that helps digest food properly, leading to high blood pressure, as the body no longer can make Nitric oxide to dilate blood vessels. The same goes for those using Prilosec or other Proton pump inhibitors..PPI. They screw up the digestion also.

I stopped using toothpaste with fluoride a long time ago. Mostly drink bottled water. Assume it is fluoride free, but am not sure.

Does water that has been used to make hot coffee still have fluoride?

Spot on, there was also data that showed a high percentage of the well off were more likely to get Polio. They were the only ones who could afford antibiotics, there was a symbiotic factor. Also, people treated polio patients in Australia with massage. The disease caused extreme muscle contractions. The theory was to treat that part, and there was much success. People went from the iron lung to a normal life.

I grew up with a lot of kids around me, from 1948 until High School, and I only knew one kid whe was physically affected by Polio. He had a gimpy arm. 1 out of 30,000. Yet we all had to take the shot, which were for a time carrying SV40 virus that causes cancer. Saved us from polio, but an entire generation died from Cancer.

Now the companies which produce it will have to find some other way of disposing of their toxic waste.

No. It’s been an issue since they started it.

Yes. I should have been more clear. When I grew up my left leaning family would mock the lunacy of the Birch Society’s obsession with fluoride. And now, 40 odd years later, ironically a California court agrees with the “right wingers”. Such irony.

Switch to Xylitol toothpaste. You won’t regret it. Get off the fluoride, it is poison.

“Switch to Xylitol toothpaste.”

Burt’s Bees has a good fluoride-free toothpaste. I use that, or one other — but I forgot its name.

Municipalities far and wide have examined the facts and chosen to fluoridate water then this black robed pig decides he knows better. When he harms 200 million people what is the recourse?

From co-pilot AI:

in the United States, municipalities have received financial incentives to fluoridate their local water supplies. These incentives often come in the form of grants or funding to cover the initial costs of fluoridation equipment and implementation1. This support helps communities start and maintain water fluoridation programs, which are considered a cost-effective public health measure to prevent tooth decay.

Those of us who believe that fluoride in the toothpaste only is the best use of it, have to spend money to get the fluoride OUT of the water we receive from the municipality. You can purchase fluoride additives, if you want to.
