Democrats and media have been going all in to demonize former President Donald Trump as we count down to the election. We see that in the constant drumbeat of bad press for him and positive press for Kamala Harris, for example. Anything Trump or his running mate, JD Vance, says is somehow twisted into something they didn't actually say to make them look bad. The Dems and legacy media look desperate at this point.
It's pretty clear that a lot of the public is able to see around the manic narrative, and that's why Democrats have to be nervous at this point in terms of the election as the Kamala Harris "honeymoon" fizzles.
As our sister site Twitchy noted, John was interviewed by Variety when they asked about Trump referencing his "Rocket Man" song in relation to the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The reporter prefaced it by saying, "I know you're not a supporter of Donald Trump." so it sounded like he was trying to lead Elton to a shot at Trump. Except that's not what he got.
Elton John on his reaction to Donald Trump calling Kim Jong Un “Little Rocket Man”: “I laughed, I thought that was brilliant... I’ve always been friendly toward him, and I thank him for his support. When he did that, I just thought it was hilarious.” https://t.co/QXV9VqAtuT pic.twitter.com/MNhsNzFwlR— Variety (@Variety) September 7, 2024
“I laughed. I thought that was brilliant. I just thought, 'Good on ya, Donald!' I am the Rocket Man. Donald's always been a fan of mine, and he's been to my concerts many, many times. I mean, I’ve always been friendly towards him, and I thank him for his support. When he did that, I just thought it was hilarious. It made me laugh."
He was told that Trump gave Kim one of Elton's CDs, and that seemed to amuse him, too. He said he thought the Rocket Man nickname was a "light moment; it was fun."
How nice it is to see a normal reaction to Trump from a celebrity and not hyperbolic insanity. That probably took that reporter by surprise. He said it was funny because it was funny. And unlike other "friends" who jumped on the cult train against Trump, he doesn't go there, so good for him.
I think Elton is a little too big to cancel, but you know that he's going to get some folks on the left screaming and losing their minds at him for that one, actually calling Trump "Donald" and saying they have been friendly. That doesn't match the demonizing they want to do of him.
As our Twitchy friends noted, this is not unusual for Elton, however. Elton played at Rush Limbaugh's wedding, and they were friends. He believes in civility, which is nice to see and something from which a lot of other people could take a lesson.
I have a tiny feeling that Variety was a little surprised by Elton John's generosity of spirit. I'm sure they were counting on vitriol when they got generous humor. https://t.co/aGZRp9Lcqd— Tammy Bruce (@HeyTammyBruce) September 7, 2024
The title of this article makes a massive assumption.
By now, the Cheneys have made themselves completely irrelevant.
Sure they are ... to Republicans who turn on Republicans. i.e. the Cheneys, Adam Kinzinger, etc.
Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding is a pretty epic piece of music.
Elton’s band was top-notch.
Madman Across the Water and Tiny Dancer are pretty epic, as well.
Its not the first time he has told the left to F-off. They tried to cancel him if he performed in Israel. He played anyway.
I grew up listening to Elton in the 70’s. One of my all time favorite artists.
Him and Rush we good friends. He even performed at Rushs’ wedding. I believe Rush said “Your Song” was his favorite song of all time.

Oh the libs hate those whores. They are just tools to destroy their enemies. Once they are used they throw them to the curb.
