It’s been six weeks since the attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and the American public’s questions about the nature of the attack and the security failings that led to Trump’s brush with death largely remain unanswered.
Jason Chaffetz, a Fox News contributor and former Utah congressman who once chaired the House Oversight Committee, joined “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss the apparent security failures and ongoing investigations into what transpired in Butler on July 13.
“I thought the extraction was very slow. I thought it was fairly pathetic,” Chaffetz told The Daily Signal. “It’s been illuminated more now that even though he was the Republican nominee, even though he was the former president, he wasn’t getting the full protective detail that a sitting president would get. And I have a problem with that.”
Chaffetz thinks the failures are structural. Poor recruitment and training, as well as heavy workloads, create a perfect storm for the kinds of security lapses witnessed on July 13 in Butler, Chaffetz suggested. These problems have long plagued the Secret Service.
When Chaffetz chaired the House Oversight Committee, he conducted the largest investigation into the Secret Service’s operations in American history. The investigation resulted in a more than 400-page report, “United States Secret Service: An Agency in Crisis.”
The former Utah congressman remains “skeptical” that the current investigations in Congress will yield the policy changes necessary to improve the Secret Service without Congress using the power of the purse to “hold them accountable.”
That they were ordered to let it happen? Pretty obvious.
I have questions too, like who was the shooter working for? Why does he have no social media presence? How did he learn to make remotely operated explosive devices? What part did the shooters parents play in all this? Why was he cremated?
Yep. Now we have a much bigger problem than Democrats: Greedy, completely selfish heads of Federal agencies and their employees. Power at all cost.
In a word, Everything!
Everything?
Here is what I do not understand.
The acting Director PROMISED the senate committee, about 3 weeks ago, that he would make any and all agents available for the Senate committee to question and he would do it immediately.
3 weeks have elapsed, why no further interviews?
Anything and everything. Accountability be damned.
He lied.............
Many suggest a coordinated Deep State plot, and many aspects of their handling, (or coordination), with Crook, including:
- Crook’s firearms training at a range where feds frequently train
- The absence of a social media footprint
- The absolute sterilization of Crooks residence
- The sophistication of the bombs and detonators
- The absence of critical Secret Service assets on-site
- Crook’s multiple encrypted devices
- Crook’s overseas accounts
- Crook’s cell phones pinging adjacent an FBI-heavy location
- The promotion of Ronald Rowe to Secret Service Director when he should be fired
- The disregard of Butler PD security suggestions and offered equipment
- Secret Service directives to NOT request additional security assets for DJT through the proper an ordinary channels
- The fact that DJT was standing at the sticks long after the threat of Crooks was identified
- The deafening silence of the FBI and Secret Service during their ‘investigations’
Until proven otherwise, the FBI and the Secret Service are part of a coordinated effort to assassinate Trump, in my opinion.
I don’t buy any of the conspiracy stuff. I just think the SS was lackadaisical and sloppy, largely due to DEI/woke becoming more important than their mission and with them doing a half-assed job it wasn’t hard for an unbalanced kid with good skills to do what he did.
The attempts we read about are mostly mentally deranged people acting on impulse and that’s why they’re stopped. Crooks was able to combine strategic thinking with technical skills to take advantage of an opportunity that never should have existed. That’s it. Occam’s razor.
Organically can mean:
In a way that happens or develops naturally over time, without being forced or planned by anyone.
Suspicions about collusion may yet be confirmed. It is not only about poor training and politically correct recruitment, there is an element approaching malice at work here.
An it probably goes a lot higher than anyone has yet suggested.

They really want us to believe that they are utterly incompetent. It’s all they have because if they aren’t it makes them complicit.
I was going to say *That they were in on it.*
The SS was ordered to allow the shooting, then ordered to eliminate the shooter so he could not tell how it was all planned...
Exactly like the JFK assassination took place with Oswald being eliminated before he could tell how it was all planned...
“3 weeks have elapsed, why no further interviews?”
You don’t think they actually want to get to the bottom of it do you?
