You’re being funny.
But the Germans are really big into that stuff.
1) Post war you had pacification programs in the West and East. There were actual programs by the Allies and Russians to make them more peaceful.
2) Germany had a huge percentage of viable men in WWI wiped out, then had a pre-WWII exodus of Jews and intellectuals, a huge percentage of viable men destroyed in WWII, then a post war brain drain...
The Germans have essentially managed to eliminate their alpha males over two generations.
3) Post WWII you had the de-nazification programs but also the Germans shunned anyone that was tied with the Nazi’s. The problem with that is that not everyone that had a Nazi party pin really was a true Nazi in their heart but they went along with it in order to succeed in a system where it was required to get ahead. What that meant post war is that many of your smartest and most capable folks were condemned to the fringes of German society.
4) The military traditions and much of the militarism in Germany comes from the Prussians. Post WWII the Russians made sure that this area belongs to them and Poland: https://ww2days.com/images/Germany_East_Prussia_in_WWII_divided.jpg
It is absolutely amazing that Germany has held up as long as they did regards Russia and this war in Ukraine. Irrelevant of ones position on the Ukraine war, the Germans have shown more teeth than at any point in time post WWII in this conflict.
They (Germany) is generally VERY pacifist, appeasing, avoiding, downplaying anything which could lead to armed conflict.
In fact, it is so bad, that anyone that has a little bit of testosterone and likes boxing or MMA, wants to join the military... is looked at side ways by much of German society. If a German commander orders to shoot back somewhere, if he shows any sort of initiative, he needs to worry about his own falling into his back...
Q: You know what could have prevented this tragedy?
A: A little more racism
Thanks for the event link.
I found one event scheduled for Saturday and Sunday that is truly advertised as “Festival of Diversity”.
24.08.2024 – 25.08.2024
Internationales Kultur- und Umweltfest Leben braucht Vielfalt.
Idiots!! 🤦♀️
I have a good friend who lives in Solingen with her husband. I pray they’re OK.
“in Solingen, Germany”
Oh, the IRONY.
I’m sure people in Germany are regretting not executing every member of the Stasi after the wall came down.
Let them experience all the Diversity they want!
Good synopsis of how Germany devolved to where it is at now.
You are right, to this day Germans are generlly extemely averse to anything about their past and military matters. I think it’s still there but deeply repressed.
Not just Germany. Most of Europe is not what it was. We’re not far behind.
(Wiki)
Solingen is called the "City of Blades", since it has long been renowned for the manufacturing of fine swords, knives, scissors and razors made by famous firms such as WKC, DOVO, Wüsthof, Zwilling J. A. Henckels, Böker, Güde, Hubertus, Diefenthal, Puma, Clauberg/Klauberg, Eickhorn, Linder, Carl Schmidt Sohn, Dreiturm, Herder, Martor Safety Knives, Wolfertz and numerous other manufacturers.
Blacksmiths' smelters, dating back over 2000 years, have been found around the town, adding to Solingen's fame as a Northern Europe blacksmith centre. Swords from Solingen have turned up in places such as the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms in the British Isles. Northern Europe prized the quality of Solingen's manufactured weaponry, and they were traded across the European continent. Solingen today remains the knife-centre of Germany.
I knew immediately it’s an islamofascism act.
