A female Secret Service agent on duty to protect former President Donald Trump at a North Carolina rally Wednesday left her post to breastfeed without permission, RealClearPolitics reported.
Soon before Trump's arrival in Asheville, North Carolina, the Secret Service site agent conducted a final sweep of the walking route "and found the agent breast-feeding her child in a room that is supposed to be set aside for important Secret Service official work, i.e. a potential emergency related to the president," the outlet's Susan Crabtree posted Thursday on X.
The woman agent, out of the Atlanta Field Office, and two family members bypassed the Uniformed Division checkpoint and were escorted by "unpinned" event staff into the room to breastfeed, sources told RealClearPolitics.

Leaving your post without permission, guarding a man marked for assassination attempts...uh, I would think immediate dismissal, no if, ands or buts. But then again, we’re talking about a protected class here, regardless. Oh well. If I were Trump, I’d have a heavy contingent of private security around, to keep an eye out for potential assassins, and to keep an eye on those of the Secret Service who would allow it to happen. Just sayin’...

There are many roles in the Secret Service where this lady in this situation could serve...security detail would not be one of them.
We should certainly accommodate women who are breastfeeding their baby. But thus should be done in a way that does not detract from the mission. This can be done by providing breast pumping and milk storage facilities. It can also be accomplished by temporarily not assigning the mother to “frontline” duties.
