President Trump is still under a partial gag order in this case.
CBS News reported:
Former President Donald Trump’s latest attempt to get the judge presiding over his New York criminal case to recuse himself has been denied.
It was the third time Justice Juan Merchan has rejected Trump’s demands that he step aside from the case. Each effort revolved around claims that the judge was compromised because his daughter works as a Democratic consultant.
Trump’s lawyers first made the request in May 2023, before the case went to trial, arguing that Merchan should step aside because of work Merchan’s daughter had done as a Democratic consultant in support of President Biden.
A state ethics panel last year later concluded that “the judge’s impartiality cannot reasonably be questioned based on the judge’s relative’s business and/or political activities.”

President Trump responded to Merchan’s decision.
“Judge Merchan just ruled that I, the Republican candidate for President, and leading in the Polls, am still under a Gag Order CONCERNING VERY IMPORTANT THINGS WHICH MUST BE BROUGHT TO LIGHT. I AM NOT ALLOWED TO ANSWER REPORTERS QUESTIONS. Can you believe this? The New York Courts refuse to act. This is happening right before the voting begins on September 6th. Suppression and manipulation of the vote. Voter interference. This is the real Fascist “stuff,” the old Soviet Union! So much to say, and I’m not allowed to say it. Must get U.S. Supreme Court involved. New York is trying to steal the Election!”
Services paid for have yet to be completed. No contractor likes to take on someone else’s half done job.
Merchan will keep Trump gagged until sentencing and then will take him out of the campaign by incarcerating him. He won’t stay, nor will the appeals court, the lock up. They only have to play legal games for about 7 weeks to sideline Trump.
Not a lawyer, but any appeal to a Federal court can’t happen until the sentencing hearing and that judge finishes the process? At that point, the Trump team can seek redress outside state courts?
Then how Can a sitting USSC judge be asked to stand down due to viewpoints or actions from a spouse
OK, if a businessman other than Trump had been convicted of the same violations, what would the penalty be? Most likely a fine, right? His team should be digging out those facts right now, to prove political bias if imprisonment is the sentence.

That’s the current game plan right now since the assassination attempt failed.
It would be a shame if someone were to Doxx the judge.
Trump should tell ti pound sand. If he sentences Trump to jail he should just say “try and come get me you fascist pig”.

He can answer reporters questions, and publicly defend himself. What he cannot do is speak about the DA, court staff or their families.
A google search says that of 437 cases brought by the Manhattan DA in the last ten years for the same charges mostly resulted in fines.
Well, he is right.
It will only have an effect if it is appealed. This judge wants a conviction and jail. He doesn’t care about precedent.
As I figured, too. Although I wouldn't doubt another attempt on his life, just to be sure.
