How much tyranny will a nation endure before they either act or wind up in prison under false pretenses?
North Korea’s lasted a pretty long time, and so has Cuba. The USSR made it about 70 years. People will trade comfort and government control for their freedom for quite some time. Once the meat hooks of socialism/communism get in and especially when they take over the arms and police, voting out becomes nearly impossible.
Declaring war on ordinary people is not a good way to start a new Government

Based on how the last few years of the Conservative Party Government in the UK, there really isn’t much difference between the two.

Yes, but usually... that tradeoff includes safety via that government control. But in the UK, no such safety exists nor will it ever exist, considering how many violent “migrants” they have imported. At least here in the US, civilians have a fighting chance (well, “some” civilians) thanks to our 2nd Amendment rights still thankfully intact.
Don’t know but here in America we tolerate everything. We’ve become a docile servant country.

I guess it’s a bit of a side point, but “yob” has a negative connotation. It usually means something like “troublemaker”.

To play a bit of the Devil’s Advocate here, it depends on how compromised they are. Roaring women will put up with a lot. Pride-parading homosexuals, even more.
The government also gains control by granting license to depravity. Those taking advantage will put up with a lot.

Unfortunately, you are correct. This country used to place great importance on free speech. No longer. The Left has carved out all sorts of exceptions. They want to criminalize “hate speech”, “disinformation”, etc.
And it’s not just the radical Left. It’s Democrats in general.
Agreed. Little by little, the gov restricts people’s rights and freedoms, until at last there is neither rights nor freedoms- all the while folks think “it can’t get much worse”
Govs dont take all rights Immediately, as that would cause citizens to fight, so they do it in increments so as not to cause the people to rally
