A good friend of mine, who was involved in considerable covert operations and had access to much sensitive information, said it was common in China, for "effeminate" appearing boys to be raised as male prostitutes in China, with such practices endorsed by the CCP, although it may be part of the general corruption. My friend said the practice was partly because of the lack of girls and women in China, due to the one child policy.

This is very similar to the practice in the Philippines of raising boys to be prostitutes, to provide money for their parents. They are commonly referred to as "benny boys".

Such practice also occurs in Mexico; it is less clear if the boys involved are doing so voluntarily, or not.

I have been told "tranny" boys are especially common in Brazil, primarily obtaining a living as prostitutes.
