The deep state decides to get BOTH Trump and Biden out of the race. Biden is just getting too unreliable and senile and might accidently say something he shouldn't about their plans, and Trump has always been a huge threat to them. The gullible young man they contacted online and trained was supposed to "take care" of Trump on Saturday but failed, what should have been an easy shot. But the Biden plan worked well enough, just slip him something to simulate a health scare, and he drops out the race, maybe hangs on for a month or two before dying "of natural causes".
Problem is that the deep state finds themselves only halfway to their goal. So, do they throw everything behind Kamala and just hope for the best or take another crack at Trump?

Pay attention to the timeline. When the Commies assassination plot failed, they immediately panicked and knew then that Biden had to go for sure. If they had succeeded, Biden would have stayed on because Republican chaos would ensued. Obviously the screw up attempt on Trump would make a second attempt much more suspect, but I wouldn’t put it past them if Kamala crashes and burns.
