The earlier videos show no indication of impact before Trump reached for his right ear. Before navigating to the link, what’s to be expected?
They’re saying (yes, I know about early info being massively unreliable) a AR type weapon. That would mean most likely 5.56×45 NATO/.223 Remington. FWIW.

Examining the “bullet hole” in the vid...
Comparing it with another higher-density pixel photo at that same moment, I think it more likely that “hole” is some artifact on the SS agent in front and protecting him, on the sleeve of her jacket. The two jackets are almost the same color, with Trump’s a shade lighter blue, or with more sheen or something. Following the lines between the jackets, that hole really looks like it’s on the SS agent’s clothes.

Good observations. I’d say it might be a button. Looks a little big for a .223 hole in any case.
I think analysis will show the 1st three deliberately spaced shots in terms of time were from the shooter. Two missed shots, and one close enough to graze president Trump in the ear. Every seat behind Trump was filled with a person attending the rally. Three were struck with stray shots. One killed and two seriously injured.

High quality men’s suits do not have button pockets on the outside. They will have unbuttoned pockets on the right side for a pocket square embellishment, flag pin, boutonniere, etc.
Trust me, Trump would be sporting a Brioni or custom made suit. Men who can afford them are going for aesthetic, not utility.

I’ve squinted at the black mark and it looks like it’s just above the agent’s sleeve and in the lighter blue sleeve on Trump, but I know that digital images and perspective can be a little wonky. About the time of the first shot, his right shoulder lifted up just a little, and about the time of the second shot, he grabbed his ear. No matter what, the grazing on his head tells us that the assassin was all too close to succeeding.
